replacements for blk-sim-wood trim?

I love my CL-s but I would like to replace the wood trim with something like polished aluminum, single-tone gray plastic or anything. Has anyone seen something like this?

there are no replacements.

you can either paint your trim.

Or buy some patterned vinyl film from Folitec or someone like that.

I personally find it hard to believe that no one has swapped their bowling ball trim for the wood grain trim found in the "other" CLs. I even inquired when I bought my Silver/Ebony CL-S about "swapping" the trim. They said "yeah we can do it" but didn't sound too enthusiastic. Oh well.

You know, changing that trim is really simple. If you want a good replacement, go to the dealer and order the trim from the Premium. Or, you can always do a little junkyard checking, but that's going to be kinda tough. Personally I'd go with the factory simuwood from Acura that was meant for the Premium.

Well... I believe it CAN be swapped.

But... some say that too swap the door pieces you need a whole new door panel. But I think that's BS.

The main problem is that to buy the burlwood trim it is crazy expensive.

Too rich for what it accomplishes... you could prolly find a metal shop or a carpenter to make metal/wood replacement pieces for the same price.

I have the wood trim and I'll trade for the black "bowling ball" look. Anyone in AZ interested?

I still have the original bowling ball trim in my CL-S. When I asked during the purchase of the car, it didn't seem like the parts dept was really interested in selling the wood trim. I just don't think they recognize the "less than desireable" nature of the bowling ball trim.
