rear bumper removal???

rear bumper removal???

anyone know how to remove and install a rear bumper. backed into a bush this winter stone sober in my own yard. lost some paint but it cracked right below the tailight. need a new one and tryin to figure cheapest way of doin so. searched and didnt find much

its very easy, i pulled it off in about 15 mins just by guessing. i removed the tail lights (bolts in the trunk) and i believe there are some screws under there. climb under the car, theres a bunch of clips that hold it in. theres screws in each of the rear fenders where the bumper meets the rear quarter panel.

is there an easy way to take the clips off without breaking them. i was suprised at the price of new ones for my F250. like $3.50 each

Two intake installs and rear bumper removal later and I still have not found a way to remove them with out breaking 80% of em, the 20% that are reusable being dumb luck.

they dry rot and just break. i managed to get off all of my rear bumper tabs except the ones under the car. those were toast! i just use a huge flat head driver to spread the pressure out as much as possible.

theres a special tool for popping them off.

You can go to lowes and buy all their nylon rivets. they are pretty cheap. look around the forums for item #

does anyone know if i have to take any plastic out of the trunk to get to this? on my way to get a quote for paint. and i have to get the snow dent out of the fron t bumper too. i HATE new england weather!

Just got a quote for $400 to paint 2 bumpers and install them myself another $200 for installation. plus 2 bumpers form acura for 275 each
