I don't have a answer for you, but good question because I was in an accident were my front bumper was scratched and I'm getting it painted, I wonder will there be any contrast, because Acura's paint sucks especially with my car being black. How much are they quoting you for the front bumper?

ok i dont know how much a bumber is if u must replace yours but i got swiped in a praking lot on my rear panel and door on the passenger side. i just picked the car up today and it looked great. they did it right and taped everything off and removed moldings etc, and the just didnt stop painting mid panel, they ended on a panel so u cant tell the difference in color. i paid 750, dropped it off monday 730am, they told me itd be ready tuesday at lunch, i actually picked it up thursday at 530pm. they said they didnt want to "cut corners" but to their credit the car looks great and its a tuf color to match(sundance gold, or pdg for u guyz)

all i n all id recomedn the experience minus the fact someone hit and ran me ina plot and i had to pay out of pocket although i got a ding fixed that was luckily right by where i was hit.

good luck with your bumper, im going to take a roll in the sparkiling new painted pdg

I'm a parts maniger at a body shop in Maryland ... it all depends how well you take care of your paint, what color it is ... Silver is easy to match, black you'll notice the differance and WHITE ... well your out of luck it is almost imposible to match. If you want it to look like nothing ever happened the best thing it to wetsand and buff the panels around the bumpers. this will help a grate deal!!! you should be looking to pay around $325 for the bumper and $550 for paint time.
Good luck

if you are planning on running 03 inserts you should have the vertical supports painted body color. it looks way better that way. if you dont it will look like the car is smiling

Itr will match perfectly if the guy painting knows what hes doing matching the paint and if he blends the paint. If its done right you will never notice the difference. Reds are the hardest to match.

Like fsttyms1 one said...the painter will need to blend the paint. Just painting the bumper itself without blending into the hood and fenders will not match correctly, but for $150 you really can't complain. Hell, hook me up for $150. Good luck.

?? How can you blend? The bumpers are separate pieces This isn't a panel.
The bumpers come off to be painted & then bolted back in. No bumper job I had ever blended anything. The paint has matched perfect in the past for me.

I got my front and back bumper replaced as well, and well, there is a difference .. if you go up close. Other than that, you can't really tell. However, the paint is pretty weak for the first few months, my front bumper already looks all rock-chipped to hell and in need of another repaint. Down the road, I might consider an overall repaint but buy another front bumper, so I have one to cure correctly for a couple months and apply a clearbra, and the other to take whatever abuse for those few months.
