Rajca's 1/4mile

well im not disappointing in the car, but in the day.

only made 3runs. about 1 run every 2.5hrs damn bikers

anyway, my first run i did the track wasnt prept (spelling?) well. wheel spin in 1st and 2nd at a 3.5k rpm launch, no nitrous until the end of third.
horrible, horrible times

second run was a bit better but a lot of wheel hop in 1st, sprayed in 2nd which i got more wheel hop and bottle psi was at 800-850psi
clocked in at 14.31s at 100.XX mph.

third was (my last run). see pic below

if i had more runs in i know i would have gotten close to 13.5. and i need a new clutch. cant handle the power. major slippage between gears

i will be going back soon with the same clutch, maybe ill get more runs in. as for the clutch slipping problem i will let it grab then spray

13.817 is good for now...once you get the clutch working well with your setups, and get perfect launches, you'll be kicking ass.

one thing, i never really hear you mention suspension modifications which are essential to get the most out of a 60/40?? unbalanced FWD car. it really seems you are not getting your full potential. the clutch is one thing, but once its stronger and hauling ass, ALL of your wheel hopping and tire spinning will get worse...lets not even mention the turbo yet either.

Yea, Id put him at a 13.4 with that trap.

Wheel hop is your biggest enemy right now. Poly fill the mounts and get a firmer suspension. What tires were you on? Launching this car perfectly is damn near impossible. The weight distribution really screws with your 60ft.

Either way, you mentioned in another thread you have only been driving a stick for 3 months (right?), if so, those are pretty good numbers.

i got tein basic coilovers now. ive been driving stick for about 3months and this is the first time ive raced at a track with a manual car. other mods, besides the ones u mentioned, are IM and TB spacers, drop in k&n filter. thats it. with a few more runs i could have been in the mid 13s. im on goodyear eagle tires. all season tires. will be investing in some drag radials for now

before i go out their again ill polly fill the mounts and read the thread on the radius arm bushing. so i dont have to read all the pages, does the prelude ones bolt up?

60ft is awful (no disrespect intended - it will come with practice). Every tenth in that launch will net you 3-5mph increases down the stretch with your P2W setup, which translates to substantially better times. On FF cars, you can preload the clutch and get the 60 ft down...but prepare to smoke it pretty quickly.

x2 on preloading.

It reduces stress on the drivetrain as well but will burn out your clutch sooner.

Pull the ebrake at the start line, slip the clutch at your desired launch rpm and hold it there. You should feel the ass end squat slightly. When the light turns green release the e-brake and go.

Not bad for only 3 months of driving a stick.

Just how are going to get around that horrendous clutch (pressure plate) problem?

Regards, sq.

The CM clutch uses their own pressure plate.
