what the heck man? the radio is already out on my 5 year old car? my radio lost reception on FM and AM about 3-4 months ago (i've been listening to CDs recently and they are fine) and when i hit the scan button to find new stations, it just keeps cycling over and over again, meaning it can't find any stations at all! currently i'm in the NYC area so i don't live in some kind of isolated area.

if i manually tune to certain stations like 100.3, i can maybe get some kind of sound but with a lot of static.

could the antenna be unplugged, or some kind of short somewhere. can i check to see if the antenna is unplugged, fuse out, etc? i hate driving without the radio and i'm sick of CDs now!

 

have you got tints on your car within the last couple months...i know the place i got tints at wouldnt tint the upper part of my back window because they said thats where the atenna was and tinting over that would screw it up

 

Antenna could be unplugged from the back of the radio or the antenna could be unplugged from the rear glass. I would check both of those spots.

 

mine came unplugged once... i dont know how(maybe a ghost or something) I took apart my center area to get to it but i think you only have to take apart the driver side panel if that makes sense.

I dont know of a way to make sure its unplugged without taking it apart. sorry

i have 20% tints all around, but i got that a looong time ago when i bought the car 5 years ago, so that can't be it.


looks like checking the antenna plug on the back of the unit takes a while. didn't want to take it to the dealer and thin out my wallet!! heh

Tint should only effect AM radio. FM should still be fine.

really? i saw in the service brochure it says to get it cleaned although i never have
