Radar Detectors

Anybody got an opinon on a good radar/laser dectector? I have been looking at the Escort Passport 8500. Pretty pricy, but if saves on tickets/insurance, then I guess it is worth it. This being the first car with any real power I have owned, I seem to have a severe lead foot. Thanks for the feedback

Here we go again. There are probably 100 threads on this subject.. but ya the basic debate is between the 8500 and a Valentine One... valentine is usually considered the best; but the 8500 is still very good and $100 cheaper.

A good radar detector is worth it if you're speeding; no question. My 7500 has saved me countless times.

I have both the 8500 and the V1. I give a slight edge to the 8500.

The V1 all the way. Directional arrows worth the extra $100 imho.

V1 or 8500. You should be happy with either one. Gotta love the V1 display, though!
