Radar Detector - Solo S2

Has anyone purchased the Escort Solo S2. I was looking into getting 1 because it is upgradable and it's suppose to be like the 8500. I have a power cord which I would connect. I don't trust the batteries.

Let me know how you like it? I heard the screen might be a bit hard to read at some points.

Yeah, I had one, then returned it. It cannot even compare to the 8500. The only reason its so expensive is because it came out onto the market not too long ago, and it is by far the best cordless radar detector, but again, its a peice of shit compared to either the 8500 or the v1. I was on a straght road, it goes off, and about 2 seconds later, i see the cop. Since it runs of battery, it isnt able to read from far away. I must admit though, it looks really cool. So save your money and either go with the v1 or the 8500, or you could buy the s2 if you like cool looking radar detectors.

Is the 8500 upgradeable. That was the main reason I was thinking about the Solo....

8500 is upgradeable. It's only a step above worthless. And it is only a half step above the Solo2. I had 'em both. Same company, same problems. All I can say is.....well never mind, Valentine One is better.

BTW, the definition of upgradeable as I understand it is you get to send the POS back to the company and they will give you another one for something somewhat less than full price.
