So far, so good with the 235/45/17's. The sidewalls are definately a bit less stiff than the Potenzas leading to a bit more body roll, but not bad at all. For those that would go from stock tires to these, you will be very pleased. They are also not quite as sticky as the Potenzas, but the increased width does a pretty good job at making up for that.
They were great in the rain so far, with absolutely no hint of hydroplaning at all.
Plus, they take up just a bit more of the wheel well that further reduces the gap present.
So, overall these "cheap" tires have so far treated me just fine. I will be sure to keep updating about the wear rate etc. as time goes on.

I'm getting a set of Michelin Pliot Sport A/S in 235/45YR17 installed tomorrow. I decided to get an ultra high performance all-season tire rather than a set of summer tires and a set of winter tires. I think M5Lite has these on his 540i. I'll let you guys know how they work. They are not cheap. I paid $219 a piece which includes mounting and balancing. I don't have to pay shipping or sales tax because me dad is in the car business and I got them through his tire guy.
