Question for the CT Supercharged guys out there.....

Did you change to colder plugs? If so, what brand works best? Is there anything else I will need that does not come with the kit?

Thanks!

Yes on the plugs, but they come with the kit.

You will need a new "munchkin size" battery.

f/p and psi gauges would be a good idea.

If you are doing the install yourself, I've got a few suggestions on tools.

My understanding is that a set of cooler plugs are included with the Comptech supercharger kit. IIRC, they are Denso IK 22.

ModAddict, going to dealer for install. I plan on getting a boost, oil temp, and air/fuel gauge. What battery will work?

Size 51R battery.

how much is the dealer charging for the install, and will they warranty the engine and drive train with the install?

From my survey, most dealerships willing to do the job in my area were asking around $1100. When I was looking, I didn't price the additional gauges, so that may be more around here.

I bought the S/C used. It's in the process of being shipped to me. On the off-chance that the guy does not ship the colder plugs, will I be alright with the stock ones?

OK. But, just out of curiosity...what happens if S/C + stock plugs?

Detonation, spark knock,.... then you may need some new internals.

It's a pain in the ass to take the blower off again to change the plugs,..... and even a bigger pain to redo your pistons.

Spend the $60 and enjoy the ride!

Are there any specific brands we should be looking for?

I just ordered 6 of them @ $11.99 for a grand total of $78.91

Modaddict, I haven't checked the install cost, but they installed my CT headers for me...........and yes they will still warranty the powertrain.
