Problems w/ '03 MTs

Has anyone been hearing about any problems with the '03 MTs. I once heard that someone had their hydraulic line for thier clutch eatin through due to faulty placement of the line. I've also been hearing that the stock clutch is weak and that too is going out like the Acura trannies.

So if u guys can post all the problems that u have been hearing going wrong with the '03 MTs.

Tnx

The only one I had was the first thing you mentioned with they hydraulic line. That problem was a rare one... so rare that that's the only one I've heard of.

I don't recall any other problems with the 6-speeds.....

Ive actually been having problems with my clutch slipping....its not too bad, but i do notice it from time to time. Other than that, i havent had any problems, except for the e-brake needing to be adjusted every time i go in for service.

Mine feels strong. Catches 3rd gear on demand. How many miles do you have Zootking?

Same here...If I have been running it a little hard I sometimes notice that it starts to slip. Like when I shift into 2nd it wont chirp but it kinda grabs/slips and if I keep on the gas it catches but take a second or two. I dont know if its wearing out, if it gets hot and doesnt grab as well, or if something can be loose and just needs some tightning.

Ohh and the E brake sucks...I have to yank it all the way up to grab. I feel sorry for the peeps with the 6spd around hills.

i've notice this too with the clutch not grabbing as hard after it's warm.....HOWEVER, i do believe that this is just a design function rather than an ISSUE. This clutch doesn't like to be let out real fast you need to easy it out.

i had the dealer tighten my e-brake...3 clicks and it stays put on a 45 degree incline...excellent for doing ebrake slides, especially 180's into parking spots dry or wet

E-brake is the only problem so far. It needs to be tighten.

Thats kinda what I was thinking/hopeing.

I wish they had some better aftermarket ones out but non yet.

I'm sure if we pushed comptech they'd put one out. However that clutch would be packaged with a flywheel as well.

Same here....no biggie.
I had mine done at the 3,750 oil change for free.

FYI... A bad driver can KILL a clutch in a DAY so I wouldn't blame all failures of that type on Acura.

The only problem I've had with my 6-speed is that it wants to get me into trouble with the law far too often.

Bad 6-speed! BAD!

Yeah Shawn I know that...I had manuals in the past (GSR and a lude) but its been about 2 years since I had one so I had to get used to this one again. I was hopeing it wasnt my driving and I dont think it is. I was thinking that it gets hot and doesnt grab well. It seems to only really slip a little when I am getting on it a lot...like trying to launch and stuff. Maybe I am riding the clutch a little to much when I take off?!?!

Is little hard to shift from 1st to 2nd during the cold weather, but this is normal for every tran out there. just give it like 5 minute let the tran warm up and it should be fine.

What could be done to apply more clamping force. Would u have to get a new clutch or is there something small that can be changed or tightened?
