Damn warped rotors...

Does anyone have the number to Acura/Honda Customer care?? I took my car in, and apparently the rotors are warped (AGAIN!!) but Acura will only cover it the first time. I want to call and bitch because I payed out of my pocket the first time I had them resurfaced.

When I took my car in for warped rotors at app 45,000 miles, they turned them, but didn't replace the pads (per TSB 01-017). app. 5,000 miles later they were warped again. I got them to replace the pads and the rotors. YMMV

I have never had warped rotors untill they turned them on the first brake job. I had that happen twice on a toyota I owned where at 50K and 100K I had to replace the rotors because at each brake job, when they were turned, they warped about 5 k later.

They make the rotors too thin to be turned and then last.

Stop doing those 100 - 0 stops so dam fast....!

I might keep my S long enough to see what happens. So far 39k and OK.

At 28,000 miles in April '02, I took my car into dealer and they "resurfased" the rotors (under warranty).

In July, needed it done again, appox. 32,000 miles, but went to Meineke. They cut the rotors again and said condition was due to "excess heat" (They hooked me up...didn't charge me).

Now in October (last week 37,000 miles), went back to dealer (complained about "shimmy" when braking). They replaced the rotors under warranty.

They also FAILED my state inspection because they said I needed rear pads! I told them not to replace the pads and left the dealer uninspected. Went back to the Meineke, had them check the rear pads. They told me the rear pads had only been used about 50%...no reason to fail inspection. I took the car to another inspection station and passed...no problem!!

Have to wait and see how long before the "shimmy " returns... I guess.

At only 27,000 miles, the "shimmy" was pretty bad. I just had to resurface my rotors too, but my dealer also replaced the front pads courtesy of the warranty. I hope i don't have to bring it in a couple thousand miles later.
