Problems starting...

I searched for awhile and I couldn't find anything that applied.
The past two afternoons when I've gone out to my car after work I've had trouble getting the car to start. It cranks and cranks, it'll eventually start but I have to let the car sit for about 20 seconds.
Several things that may help.
1. I just got my tranny replaced less than 1k ago ( I believe the starter is connected to the tranny somehow, at least it is on my truck)
2. The battery is only about a year and a half old
3. car has 60k on it.

I was thinking about calling the dealership that did my tranny but I wanted to see if anyone else had problems like this or might know what the problem could be. The starter looks very easy to access so I'm not going to have the stealership replace it, if that what it comes to.

Thanks in advance!

I was thinking about it some more, could it possibly be the fuel pump or its relay?

go to sears and have them test your battery. alternator can slowly kill your battery even if its new

When you stop trying to start it check the immobilzer light. Looks like a key and should be green on your dash. If it is flashing it means your car isn't recognizing the key and disables the fuel pump. As an experiment, seperate your car key from the key ring and use just that for a month. See if the other metal keys are interferring with your car key.

It's your TPS (throttle position sensor) most likely. I had these same issues for the past year and finally changing my throttle body fixed it among other things....

Mine would have a hard time starting (cranking forever) and then would kind of start but it would be sort of choking for air. Finally after sitting for a while it would run fine.

Bad news is that it you have to change out the whole throttle body to replace it.
