power steering pump whining after Comptech strut bar installed

anybody else having/had the same problem? what was done to resolve it?

I moved the hose around (the one that touches the bracket going to the pass. fire wall) and no result.
Other than that i havent had much time to look into it.

This was the only answer I found, but the thread wasn't titled to this problem. It solves the problem, but doesnt show the reason why its causing it to whine.

there is a spot where the steering pump hose comes in contact with the ct bar. i believe that is where the noise comes from. it just gets carried through into the cabin from the contact points at the windshield. i have both dynomat at all contacts and thick rubber tubing around the bar near the ps tube. sounds has been non-existant since. it gets tight around the engine cover, ct bar and ps tubing. you can gently "force" the ps tube away from contact area.

I had the CT strut bar and tried putting it on my car with the P2R plenums and the bar was WEDGED against the rear plenum and just resonated through the entire car... it was such a sad day.... I never did see the power steering hose hit it though honestly.. weird

I'm positive I didn't have any other clearance issues aside from the plenums which was my own fault.

that hose is wrapped in foam too at that point i believe.

you mean to tell me it's pressing up on the strut bar enough that it makes noise inside the cabin?

If you install the ingalls stiffy mounts it comes with the bracket and you can use another bracket that you cut down under the other side of the strut bar. It raises it around 1/4 of an inch and that should help clearing the ps hose and the plenums.
