Not sure if it was an A4 or S4 but on my way back from school, driving S. on 880, this audi I passed suddenly comes flying by in the left lane. He/she was doing about 130. I think about it for a sec and hit the gas. I catch up and we're both doing about 135-140 easily. Traffic was pretty bad so I left off a few times. I was behind him for the most part cuz everytime I caught up he would punch it. Dunno what this car had but it was sweet, dark gray, wasn't lowered or anything but prob had some engine mods. My exit was coming up fast so I highbeamed him. For those that doubt the CLs can't be pushed, it can. I was prob stupid for getting caught up knowing there was still a lot of cars out. I haven't pushed my car hard on the freeway in a long time but those who have know the awesome feeling. G'night

getting on the 10 freeway in los angeles, a debadged audi a4 was driving along followed by a brand new a4 1.4T, those things look real nice, i drove pretty quickly by the older a4 with my window open, found my lane and stayed there goin the speed limit, and the fucker in the a4 booms around a semi that was cruisin next to me, and he changed lanes in front of the truck at which point he is next to me and he shifts down and i hear the hi pitched whistle of a blow-off valve, needless to say i chilled goin my own pace because i'm not fuckin with an audi with turbo's.... but yea dude the CL s loooves to be pushed i love it, 100 mph + feels smooth as a babies bottom

 

How long does it take a CLS to reach 140 (like you said) or so? That is pretty highspeed to get up to just by "punching it"... Considering the car and performance..

Those speeds came up pretty fast for you... were you reading the KMH dial?

 

351, I was already cruising at about 90 so it didn't take long for the car to reach 140. Considering the cold air at night (about 60 degrees or so). I also have intake and headers. It didn't feel like it took long to get to that speed and yes I did look at the speedo a few times

 

I wonder why he/she tried the ole fly by? If it was a dark grey color, odds are in favor of it being an A4 if the old body style (B5) like mine. I think 1 or 2 people in the country did have an S4 special ordered though. So, who knows.....you might have run with a rare ass car. If it was the new Body style, it could have been an A4 or S4 because you can get them both in a dark grey looking color.

 

4dr...yea, couldn't tell but it did have that fin on top for onstar/navi? It was 4 dr, dark gray and tinted. Dunno why they did a fly by after I had already passed them up a mile ago? One thing that was sweet about that car is the turbo. I had my windows down when he flew by and every time he punched it, it seemed to just go w/o any hestitation. I wonder what it would be like to race one of those from a stop. Anyway, I'm sure he was impressed that our CLs could hang cuz he sure was trying to lose me. I've been bugging my wife to get an Audi and she's all for it....too bad she doesn't know it's an S4 or RS6 I want.

 

i raced an a4 on the 210...i saw him flooring it from a while back cuz i was keepin an eye on him with the rear view..it had a lot of exterior mods..looked like an rs4 front conversion..cleared headlights..etc. anyway i floored it as soon as i saw him catching up...but it was no match...i was going 75 already...hit third gear and it was over..he never caught up

without engine mods...theyre not really that fast
