When your car was tinted, did they go over the brake light? I just talked to the guy who did my car, and he didnt go over it. He said it is illegal to go over the brake light. Is this correct?

Correct. The tint is not suppossed to go over that. There is a law which states we are mandated to have three breake lights on any car from the year, i think 1989 and on. I could be wrong tho.

 

1. The 3 brake-light law started in 1986.
2. You can tint over all your lights as long as it is not so dark you cant see the light when it comes on.
3. The tint guy just didnt want to put forth the extra effort to get behind the light.

 

If you have a spoiler, the brake light from the spoiler should qualify as the 3rd brake light.

 

I have the spoiler and my tint guy tinted over the inside light. Its disconnected anyway so its not like it makes a difference.

 

My brake light is not tinted cause my tinter could not get to it and I did not want to take out the back seat. If you have a spoiler than it does not work anyway.

 

The guy who tinted mine had NO PROBLEM with covering the useless -- I have a spoiler -- rear deck brake light. In the case of the Ebony interior, it actually may not be that much of a problem if that area was not tinted over. But on Parchment interior it would look bad, IMO.

 

fuckin take it back and make him tint over it. NO COP IN THE WORLD is gona pull u over for some bs like that. and if u wana get a thrid brake light buy the spoiler. and did your guy spray paint the bubble area of the top window?

 

I DON'T have a spoiler and I got the third brake light tinted over. I think it looks like crap if it isn't. I paid an extra $20 to have them take out the back seats to reach behind the light.
