Peeling Out.

I notice everyone say that they can spin tire in their cars even if it's an auto. Not that I want to burn up my tires, but why can't I spin my tires when gunning it in first gear, regardless of the VSA on or off. My tires aren't super sticky (Bridgestone Turenzas, I love them) I have a good amount of mods, but I just don't get that tire spin off the line when I gun it.

I can get a lil chirp like I just ran over a bird, but nothing good.

Whats up with this...?? Am I the only person who can't spin their tires with their auto.

It depends for me. If I'm leaving work on our concrete parking lot, I can peel really well. On paved proads, I can get a little chirp.

My older stock tires were a bit better for peeling.

I've rotated my OEM's up front (got Yoko V4's on the back) so I'm squeaking and squealing all over the place w/ my 6spd without even trying

On my old Falkens I could get it to break free all the time. Actually it was quite annoying until I got it to chirp 2nd gear, that was cool. But now that I'm on the General Exclaim UHP's, I can barely get her to break free in the wet much less when the road is dry. Also, the only other time I notice it breaking free now is this... Let's say I'm sitting at a light and the light turns green. I nail it and the tires grab but as soon as I cross that painted white line it will lose traction and chirp across the painted line on the road. As soon as I'm off the white line, it grabs again. I love these tires.

Ha, my old integra 1.8, I busted up so many axles by spinning tire and then it catching. So I am a little weary of spinning tire anymore even if I could. So without a brakestand, its pretty common that most of us can't spin tire in the auto.

P.S GreenMonster, you don't need to rub it in how easy it is for you to do. Not my fault that I can only spin tire on an icy day. Just playin, burn on.

So I am taking that your car isnt dropped. I mean, I am not complaining, I get pretty good torque off the line because I get no spin, but unless i am turning out of a parking lot and gun it, I just can't seem to spin my damn tires. The Turenzas arent very sticky either, they are only touring tires, but oh well, I guess I got a "factory freak" but in a bad way.

I don't seem to have a problem with doing it. VSA on or off, I'll still get a nice session out of it. That's with my Pirelli PZero Neros on.

Yeah, I forgot about that. I definitely got better traction from a dig after it was dropped. I attribute that to the slight rake up front, slightly distributing the weight differently plus she doesn't "squat" anymore when I nail the throttle.

Why do I sense some sarcasm in this comment... I wish it was that easy for me, I am bout to go toss some clorox on my tires and put the e-brake on. Then maybe I can keep up....

When I had the auto all I could do was chirp the tires. And that was from a stop. couldn't do anything when moving.
Now the 6mt I can peel out well from gears 1-2 at any time. I can actually peel out shifting into 2nd gear.
