Pappy I found you a TBIRD

What do you think? I'm a huge fan, but it's $70,000.

That actually looks just like the the Tbird from Chip Foose... it was actually featured on a TLC show about custom cars that he was the main focus of.

Pretty hot Tbird. I really do not like that car... but that one and the Foose bird are hot.

Isn't it strange that they want to sell the T-Bird at invoice, but Honda still wants to sell the S2000 at MSRP even though 2003 is the last year for it. A different version is coming out for 2004 with a 2.2 ltr engine.

The T-Bird isn't selling, that's why pappy. Before they had a good premium, now the dealers are desperately trying to get rid of them. Ford has stopped production for what they say is because they want to keep the car limited, but I doubt that is the whole reason.

I think, ghander, what the problem was with the T-Bird was it couldn't fit in any nitch. Was it a sports car or a luxury car? I really don't think the design was bad in my opinion. For some reason it just didn't fit in anywhere.

I think where Ford screwed up is the interior. I think if they would have taken more from the old style T-Bird and incorporated it into the retro looking new Bird, they would have had a hit. It's just god awful inside.

What they did was offer you 3 interiors to choose from. 1. The solid color interior. 2. A partial interacting color and 3. More of a interacting color. Example. Black and white. The steering wheel and part of the seat would be 2 colors. But go with "3" and more parts of the inside such as the side door panels would be white. Hence this retro look. It was a different idea...I give them credit for trying.

I agree

There's too much cost involved these days to do a "limited" run on a car like that. It just plain didn't sell. Read any industry auto journal & you'll see(not car & driver, motorweek). They over-priced that car from day 1. Same BS they tried with the LS. Those cars lose so much value in the first year it's a joke. Just did a search on Autotrader...$42K+ for a new(base) model...selling for $32K used(2002) with average 10K miles.

Buy one used...you'll save a ton. You may even get low interest financing if you find one at a Ford dealership & finance thru Ford Credit.
