First few days after installing the P2R tb spacers or plenums you will have power, than the ECU will adjust AFR to factory parameters. Tuning with a AFC fixes this.
And more intake manifold volume = more air = car runs lean and makes more power.

The TB spacer stores more volume of air so when the cylinders need more there is more air to draw from. The thermal gaskets act as a buffer between the TB and the plenum. The metal surfaces aren't making direct contact anymore so the amount of heat transferred is reduced thus resulting in lower air intake temps. The ECU will see this and increase timing or make other adjustments.

Thanks everyone for the posts:
So simply put - it seems to me the idea is that by having a larger body of air to draw from, the engine doesn't have to work as hard to pull the air into the engine which in turn should free up a couple of hp.

Great. Thanks.
The car checked out, unfortunately after the owner went on a three week vacation. I gave a deposit that was predicated on a good bill of health and the understanding that I might have to wait three weeks.
I was hoping to get off work before they left. Gonna be a long three weeks of buying mods for a car I don't have yet .
