Look... I can see the number of "I sold my CLS..." threads are growing quickly, but shit... Every single one of use that have created a thread of this kind HAVE OWNED a CLS. We're not trolling, we're not trying to create any type of controversy. We're just sharing some car pics in car talk. Sorry it doesn't have an "A" on the trunk.

I could see how people would be getting pissed if people with ONE post came in and posted thir G/Z pics, but hell... I've been around for a while. Sorry for sharing my happy news with some friends.

I may be narrow minded to think I could hang out here and not get constantly attacked by petty, insecure people, but that is nevertheless what I thought. I'm a car enthusiast and I thought most here were too. It just ain't so. If you all want to pat each other on the back all day long and reassure each other that you're all kings of the road and the Cl is the end all and be all of cars, that's fine, but don't call yourselves car enthusiasts, because a car enthusiast loves many cars, and is interested in all kinds of car talk.

ok, let me say that 1st of all, i have never owned a CL-S (but i have been owned by one. right, scalbert? ) i have watched from the sidelines about what is going on with the 350/G vs CL debate. having read most of it and being pretty impartial to the festivities, i thought that i might throw this out. alot of the bickering back and forth is somewhat silly to me. b/c someone decides to go with another car that competes with the CL, doesnt make them a traitor. there has been a ton of traffic here over the last few months of people trading out. it is what it is. when i used to come here with my Lex, i never felt out of place. now i feel like anything i say could get turned into a flame war. thats cool, as i couldnt care less. i am a car enthusiast and i respect the CL as a great car.
And i do mean great car. for the price, in its day, it was the best car money could buy for under 35G. awesome power, great style, reliability, great interior, etc. some will say that it still is. but competition drives up the ante. hopefully acura will step to the plate and deliver a homerun soon and regain its position. i have no problem with that. its just like when i had my GS400. for a sec, it was the faster 4 door production car sold. then here comes everyone to take a shot at the title. thats whats happening here. you guys with the CL should be happy that your car was a trendsetter and has spurred the competition. it can only help you in the long run. oh well, ill get ready for the flames. ill hang up and listen now......

Now RAVAHOLIC is another story... but gees O petes, I got the feeling it won;t be long at all before the Thread of (Can I buy headers for my Z off of Dean) comes around the corner.... this is Acura CL.. not Nissan..I feel sold out... I just can't believe so many people are making a run for the border..

Ok I hear ya now. And for the record, I am NO better off than when I was driving my slushbox; meaning my G no better than the CLS. I'm not about to get into a dick measuring contest, so I'll say I'm even with everyone here. I just couldn't justify paying 7K to get back into the same car with a 6spd.

I made the run for the tranny issue. I had well documented problems, and I bailed because of safety concerns. So help me, if I would have kept the car and something would have happened to the wife when she was driving, I never would have lived it down. 2 replaced trannys in 10K miles was enough for me.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

If you don't like the performance get rid of it and once again shut the fuck up. It's not fast enough, but all you fags drive with stock parts. you get what you pay for. So go buy a M3. This car was purchased for value. You got a 02 with a blown tranny, well, the 01's had it also, so obviously who's fault is that?

Also, the G35 and the Z are great cars, but I think I've seen enough pics of them, so once you trade in your CL, unless you mod your Z, I'll just pic up a magazine and see the same damn pic.

So let me get this right. People that OWNED or LEASED a CL should not post that they traded/sold their cars for the Z, G-35 or any competition.

I think some of you need to go stay in your lil closet then cause that is immature. I for one CONGRATULATE Nissan for selling a product people can choose to.

Hell, even IF there was no G35 or Z, the CL was dead anyway. Some people don't want to drive a dead car. And Nissan is capitilizing now.

I have not seen any Z/G-35 owners bashing the CL, they state facts:

1. The tranny was pissing me the fuck off.
2. Re-sale worries
3. I want a true sports coupe/car
4. More aggresive looks.

And they all have acknowledged that Nissan interiors are sub-par to Honda/Acuras.

If a G35 or Z owner bought a CL-S on their forum and posted it, I don't think they would have a problem with it. So why you?

 

I don't hold anything over your head Scrib, you did what any man would do to protect his family/future.. I am glad it all worked out for you.. the same goes for Zeroday... I am glad you guys got your rides and I hope to hell we can all get together at a meet and swap stories.. I have no beef with anyone here.. Just trying to let you guys see the other side of the fence... Maybe someday, you'll see how your words affect other peoples outcome.... I am so happy with my whip for now, maybe someday I will be on the other side of the fence looking in and looking back to this.. And yes, no dick measuring contests...
