Jesus Christ you guys are FUCKING annoying with your 350Z and G35 babble.
I’m not talking about the occasional “look what I bought” thread. I’m talking about the people who just continue to SLAM Acura and do their best to convince others to sell.

This place USED TO BE a great site for CL/TL info and it was a pleasure to read nearly every thread.
Not anymore.

Lots of people here have moved on to other makes/models and they continue to be a pleasure to have around.
If you’re a long time member and you continue to post POSITIVE info here, feel free to stay.
If you’re one of the Acura HATERS and continue to bash… GO THE FUCK AWAY !!!

It’s getting really bad.
We have some threads where a new member is asking about modifying his car and we have some PRICK post “Sell it and buy a G35”.
WTF do we need people like that here for. Why do you even want to be here ???

I admit I have even taken a look at that “other” Acura site to see if it’s as bad over there. It ISN’T.

And, I am in NO WAY jealous of you guys who are buying.
Those cars are great if that’s what you like, but they just don’t fit my requirements.
And the 80’s style interior is STILL fugly.

Am I going to go over to the Infinity/Nissan Forums and post this? NO

I have reduced my time spent here as it is increasingly difficult to find topics actually related to the subject vehicle. I too wish the unrelated or negative comments were kept to a minimum but some people have nothing better to do.

I never bashed...I've owned 4 Acuras. No, I'm not happy about the way the company handled the transmission issue, but I never slammed my car...I loved it. I still post regularly here and I love to see and hear what people are doing with their CL's. If someone I knew wanted to look at an Acura, I would have nothing but good to say about most of the models. If someone was looking at a 5 AT, I would tell them my experience with the car truthfully and without bias.

i hear that and agree shawn .... i'm all about my cl-s and am extremely happy with it.. it's crazy when every other thread involves discussion about the infiniti/nissan cars.. i too am not jealous (far from it) but i want to talk about my car..

that new thread (Who here now owns a Z?) is unnecessary in this forum, for example.. go ask in a Z forum, not here.. if you own a G or a Z, and are cool and want to still discuss the CL and cars in general, like Scrib, STAY.. we want to hear your thoughts.. if you're like jimcol and dont ever add any balanced thoughts about the CL and OTHER cars, check out another site, please.

For those of you who think there are people here who slam the CLS, etc. why not name names??? Because if my name is on your list of bashers, I'm going to be offended, because I've never yet bashed the CLS. If you count the whole tranny issue, then I think every slushbox owner is at fault.

I have to say that alot of what we are seeing is evidence of the attention span of most young male car buyers. a year or 2 ago, this place was nothing but CL CL CL CL CL CL. everyone was loving it. tons of good information, tons of intrest, etc.

over the last year though, the intrest has faded due to alot of reasons, not the least of which are:

-the Tranny disaster
-the definate discontinuation of the CL
-the influx of superior competitor cars


these things, coupled with the undenyable short attention span for most young male car buyers, is leading this to where we are now. the CL-S is still a great car, no doubt, but most of us have a constant desire to upgrade, to mod, to progress, to have somehting better. its a typical male feeling. we all came from lower-end cars to a CL-S, and it was great...for the first year, maybe more. the only way the CL-S held some of our intrests was by the ability to mod...do some headers, sways, springs, tint, stereo, CAI....eventually some people just ran out of money, had all the mods, or just flat out lost intrest. thus leading to the migration to other models.

Shawn, you are an older man, youve been through your early-mid 20s where you want a new car every 4 months, we all feel that way from time to time, some of us feel that way ALL the time! you are satisfied with what you have, due to the fact that the car suits your needs, but also, because you are (whether some here will admit it or not) more mature in your sense of priorities in your life.

theres guys here struggling to make payments on their CL-S, or other, more expensive cars, while still living at home. clearly, the misquided typical priorites of a young male.

do you think that this is all going to stop with the G35C and the 350Z?? HELL NO!!! this attitude will continue forever! id be willing to bet, in 2-3 years, when everyones G35/350Z is getting old, dinged up, etc and all of a sudden a new supra or a new 330 hp acura coupe or SOMETHING comes out, alot of the same people will be dumping their beloved G35/350Z in favor of the next greatest thing.

look at the difference in activity and membership of the 1st gen CL crowd, look at how many members are in that particular forum here, it gets a SMALLL percentage of the traffic that the rest of the board gets, additionally, some of those who post in the 1st gen forum dont even have a 1st gen!!

as we speak, the 2nd gen CL is being phased out, people are dropping them like flies, they are becoming cheaper and cheaper in the used market. in a year or 2, this 2nd gen CL will be just like the 1st gen CL is now. a "secondary" category within a forum like this, making way for the newest and greatest.

some members here, the ones who proclaim to intend to keep their CL-S for 5-10 years, or 100k miles, etc are in a different demographic than alot of us. take a look around, the GREAT majority of those dumping the CL-S for something else are young, unnattached, unmarried, living at home or in an apartment, have a hard on for a particular car and money burning a hole in their pocket.

i understand your rant, but you cant honestly say you are surprised. you were younger once too, im sure you know how it felt. in some way, im sure there will be a forum for the 2nd gen CL, but i dont think it will ever be as it was 2 years ago, in its prime. such is the nature of things...

hey NEWBIE, I've been here way longer than you have, and had a CLS for a few years. I NEVER, EVER bash on the CL even though like *any* car, it is far from perfect. I respect other people's rides, unlike people like you. I'm the guy who started the "who has a Z here" thread. What is wrong with that thread? Did I say ANYTHING bad about the CL in it? Why would I go to a Z forum to ask who here owns a Z?? Does that make any kind of fucking sense you little fucktard? Looking at the thread, the only bashing going on is you saying and a couple others saying how you don't like the Z. I was simply looking for other Z owners here that I already know and trust so I can discuss some Z related things with them and get their input; most of it via PM. I am a car enthusiast, not a Z enthusiast, it's called CAR TALK because you're supposed to talk about CARS. It's not called CL TALK is it? That would be really boring if that's all that was there.

Unlike some of your more recent posts, that one had some pretty accurate information and was definitely worth reading.
Good points.

Although I still consider the CL-S to G35 move kind of Horizontal and not much of an “upgrade”.
The only improvements are what has become more commonplace in the industry then what Acura had in early 2000.
I’m confident that in a few years Acura will shake things up and “knock em dead” like they did with the CL-S.

I've noticed this common behavior with some of those who sell their Acura for another make. Not all, but some.

• First they talk about their test drive of some other car
• Then they boast about buying this or that
• Then they hang out here and start blasting our cars

They basically demonstrate their immature/childish behavior and lack of consideration for the rest of us. Net result ... a lot of wasted bandwidth ... making it difficult to exchange useful information about our cars.

 

Yeah...keep putting in the same pile of shit 5 speed auto. This is not a SIX SPEEDER'S problem...so why should a SIX SPEEDER get so pissed?

And like I posted before I used my dislike of the Infinity/Nissan interiors as something I would NOT post on another forum.
It’s MY opinion. I think Honda/Acura does interiors better then most.
It’s been mentioned by many others and even in the magazine reviews so I’m not alone in that thinking.

you should see all the good things that the 350z converts/longtime posters here have said about the CL over there. They actually defend the cl to Z owners...but over here, you guys just enjoy ripping their rides apart and then bitching how they hate on you. I don't see it. I see CL owners hating on G35/Z owners.

Amen. It's too bad. Well I'm all about talking more about my car, a shiney SSM 2001 CL-S that rides beautifully and has the best price/feature ratio out there.

 

So I'd still like to know who is doing all this bashing? The only issue with the CL I have a problem with is the tranny...that's it. I still think it's one of the best performers out on the road. What is this all about? Are we BASHING the CL by buying something else?

Not really...I don't think we should ban anyone but I think his constant talk about the accord should be a hint to the rest of the non-CL owners. If you don't own a CL...don't boast about how great the car is that you do own.

I don't get it. I have never seen any of the Z/G35c converts bashing the CL. At times a few of us would post about the weaknesses of the CL such as the tranny, but I for one have never bashed the CL.

I took Lou's 6-speed CL out for a ride last week and I had nothing put praises for that car. I think I put up a great comparison between that car and my Z.

I stick around because I thought this was a great group of people who are knowledgable and love cars as much as I do. But lately most of the bashing I have seen is against the Z/G35, not the other way around

 

Honestly, I don't see where the problem is......maybe I'm blind.

I don't mind the G35/350Z posts at all, enjoy hearing about them actually (the majority anyway). In those posts, I don't see too much about people hating on the CL. The only thing that people bring up that I noticed (and its justified), is the Tranny issue and that they didn't want to deal with it anymore.

That's why this board is cool, because people talk about different cars.
