Optima Battery

I'm looking to move my battery to the trunk and replace it with a Optima Yellow top, what model do I need? I'm also doing a system in the near future, should I get two batteries?.. any help is appreciated.

Since you're doing the work now, I'd get two and run them in parallel. That should satisfy of all you future power needs. The only limitation would then fall on the alternator. I am not sure of the specific model# you need.

You don't really need a size since you are moving them to the trunk. I beliebe all yellows are the same, just different sizes.

Here's a pic of my relocation to the trunk, I use a battery holder from eddiemarine, http://www.eddiemarine.com/cart/cata...oxes%2FCharger and had it smoke nickle plated. This battery holder is made for this batteries diminsions. Pictures don't do it justice. I overkilled the grounding in the trunk area as well as overkilled the ground in the engine compartment. Can't have too many groundsss........ I use 1/0 gauge on both the pos and neg wire, and the ground wire also runs to the front of the car to many grounding points.

I like the look of the battery holder you have, do you know what size I would need to fit, and do you use the blue top by itself, or do you have another battery also, thanks!

That battery holder is made for the optima you see pictured. The base of the battery holder is machined to match the bottom of the optima blue top battery. Go to the web page provided and read.

Yeah, I clicked the wrong holder at first, but I ordered the correct one, as for the battery I'm just gonna look around locally since shipping is going to cost a lot.

It's very sturdy. When you try to wiggle it, it moves the whole car...no movement what so ever. I'm still working on the finishing touches to cover the back with the old plastic piece that i'm cutting to fit. The holder is a very nice piece of hardware that is flawless from the manufacturer. I had this piece smoked chromed nickle, it came as polished aluminum.
