I would definetely recommend getting the bypass valve. It saved my a$$ last week (during the heavy rains), I drove through standing water that covered my fog lights. Thats when i learned that the bypass valve DOES WORK.

I agree with Quick on that..
When I get my CAI, I definately plan on getting it..
$35 piece of mind, some may say it isn't worth it.. but I've lived in Cali just about all my life, and I know that there are heavy rains every few years.. especially here in Northern Cali..

Yeah, i recommend it. I posted last week about hitting a huge puddle with my wifes Subaru Forester that shot alot of water underneath, and just up the road was a Maxima dead in the road. I think he hit the same puddle full on and drowned the motor. Made me glad i have the Bypass on my CL-S.

Ditto here
I JUST got the InJen CAI w/ AEM bypass filter on and it rocks. The InJen CAI is shaped a bit different from the AEM I think. Anyhow, I put the bypass on TOP and it works great. It also makes the bypass almost 2 1/2 feet above ground so it's safe as it can be from water. I'm really glad to have it just in case. It's not worth it to NOT get it to save $47 bucks.

Is there any major difference (besides price) between the AEM and Injen CAI's??? I live in rain-country up here in Seattle and plan on doing the bypass-valve install, but not sure which intake would be the best...

Not much
I talked to the guys at Penn Auto Permance in San Diego and they didn't think there was much difference. There's only two parts, the pipe and filter. The pipes are slightly different shapes and supposedly the AEM pipe is more rounded for a smoother intake, but I don't think your engine gives a shit. And the filter is pretty much the same too, but the InJen's is bigger. But the prices are different.
Got the InJen and thus far, very happy. ONE WARNING. I don't know about AEM but the InJen came with two rubbery silicon pipes and the guy at the shop replaced one of them with a reinforced silicon tube since one of them (don't know which) undergoes a bit of pressure (15 ftlbs?). Should get yourself a good tube just in case.
Make sure you get the polished tube w/ red filter and fittings. It matches great with the red letterings on the engine. It's all shiny, red, and happy!
