Oil for '03 CLS

I've used whatever the dealership has been giving me so far. I'm going to make the switch to fully synthetic. Amsoil. Which oil weight should i go with?

SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil
SAE 5W-20 XL-7500 Synthetic Motor Oil
SAE 10W-40 Synthetic High Performance Motor Oil

SuperSyn formula is good enough.. if you do 5k miles or 7500 miles oil drain and refill with a new micron filter...you are good to go

Am I wrong or doesn't the season and temperature have something to do with the viscosity you choose?
Hey Zapata, how many miles do you have on your car? I was going to change over at 12K miles.

Yes, in simple terms

colder the temps, lighter the oil. Also lighter oil creates less
friction on the engine, hence the 5w30 in our cars. Its all about
fuel economy.

check your manual, it has the ranges listed in a chart.

Because it's not fully synthetic. There was a dicussion on this board a while back. Mobil had to come out in and say it contained "regular" oil and their synthentic was actually a blend. Sorry, i' can't provide any more detail but I was at work till 2am last night and i can't think straight

Not according to the Mobil 1 site.

Get some rest man! I hope they paid you for that mad overtime.

Yeah, I'm gonna find that info out b/c if that's the case then the
bottle has false advertising. "Fully Synthetic Motor Oil"

I recently switched to the Amsoil 5w-20 blend from Mobil1 simply due to the lack of the reccomended viscosity from Mobil. I had been loyal to Mobil1 for many years so this was a hard departure.

very interesting, did not know that one. hummmm

Amsoil would be my alternate as well, worked well the RX's
and I assume its quality will prevail in the CLS.
