OBX/CT Hybrid Header???

I was wondering if it is possible in install the one 3-1 header piece that CT makes for the MT6 along with the OBX auto headers? The only reason why the OBX do not fit the MT6 is because of the MT6's extra motor mount. So what if someone used the CT's 3-1 to resolve the problem for the MT6s?

Some of the members who traded in their 2001 w/Headers for the 6-Speed have looked into buying that one piece from Comptech to swap out and they wanted 400-Bucks for it.

By the time you by that ONE rear manifold and a complete set of OXB, you’re looking at 800+ dollars.
Why not just spend another 200 and get a good set of Comptech’s that fit right out of the box.

And you don’t need a Drill, Sledge Hammer, & Mig Welder to install them.
((( sorry…. Had to do it ))))

i guess in this case i agree with shawn, at 400 bucks, that rear bank is really damn expensive and with the extra cost of a set of obx, you might as well just get comptech...i mean, for us with the automatic CL-S....340 vs. 1000 is a no brainer...obx all the way.. but for you 6 speed guys, its now 750 vs 1000....welll, personally, in that case, id rather spend the extra and get the comptech quality all the way around. now if that rear bank was like 200, then i would go with the obx and the comptech rear bank, but christ, 400 bucks for just the rear bank??? thats less than i paid for my entire set of headers!!!

Why would I want to do it???

Hasn't it been proven that the OBXs are better performing that the CTs?

Not to me...

They should have similar performance.

I'd really want to see a couple of more dynos to make that conclusion and it would help if the dynos were done (1) at the same dyno shop and (2) with the similar temp, baro, and humidity.

Heck, there are stock CLS dynos that don't reach 200hp and there is one done at 40-degrees F that is close to 209hp.

209HP at low temps (approx 40 degrees):

Look at the lower trace (stock in Mike's dyno). It's 198 HP.

What does this say for comparing different headers if people with Comptech headers (and stock) are all over the map?

Where did one get this idea?

Wait for someone to do a good comparison before thinking that.
