an A/T CL-S would still pull on RSX-S. obviously not as much.

btw, this might get moved buddy.

It's still an RSX...
I think the cars are ugly.
Especially the gay red dash lights, not easy on the eyes at night...
That video would have been worth the time of clicking on it, if it was only 14 seconds.
All the different angles and the shifting shots sucked...

stock for stock the RSX-S 05+ would be even with a 6 spd CL, thats if the drivers are even

theres alot of other things that have to do with the quickness of a car. Gearing, drivetrain loss, traction, power to weight and the biggest thing is the driver

did they change the gearing on '05?

on that video, looks like the X got the first jump. i was assuming he's a better driver than the S?

source autos.msn.com

2006 rsx type S 201 HP 2840lbs

2002 cl type S 260 HP 3510lbs

lets see here 2840/201 = 14.12 lb/hp for the rsx for the cl type s it would be 13.5 (auto) or 13.2 (2003 manual)

CL would be faster just based upon HP to weight ratio not even to mention the flat as mississippi torque curve that the CL type S has

for one the 201 hp came from honda/acuras new HP rating system. Before the new type of rating came out it was at 210 hp. The 05+ Tl dropped about 4% from the old horse power rating. so the new rating would porb leave the CL-S at 249 hp.

And the power that matters is what the car puts out at the wheels. the auto tranny on the CL-S sucks at transfering power. most auto cl-s put down around 200 whp and i think the 6mt is around 210 whp. most stock 05+ RSX-Ss put out 175 whp.

So rsx at 16.2 lbs/1 whp and auto CL-S is 17.55lbs/whp

The CL does have a good amount more torque than the RSX. no one ever said a stock rsx-s will beat a cl-s

unfortunately for you, the video does not bear out your numbers, thansk for playing :P. Since the base TL uses what appears to be a modified type S motor and it is 258hp, I would guess as many others have speculated that the CL type motor would not suffer much if at all from the new ratings.

u must not have read any of the thread. its funny if u think the cl-s motor wont suffer from the new rating system, its going pretty much the same as the 04+ TL, which i stated in what u quoted that it was baout a 4 % loss.

and it doesnt even matter since the car loses almost 60 hp through the drive train

and for the video i said the 02-04 rsx-s would lose.

Good job on yor post

Most RSX-S owners can't drive their 6spd so the advantage goes to the auto CL-S. The ones that can drive well can put up a good fight stock for stock against the CL-S. Plus RSX-S w/ minor mods boost their top end tremendously. My cousins RSX-S has I/H/E and it moves up top. It would hang with a CL-S 6pd from a roll for sure.

all I said is that your so called "facts" are not backed up by the video.... and 4% isn't didly squat since the RSX suffered 4.3% loss based upon the HP ratings

A CL S also gets great gains form Intake and Headers (no exhaust change needed unless you really want that 2 hp max gain)

Hmm thought this was that other video where they are at an airfield...yes looks like the RSX did get the initial jump. I bet this was the case because the RS is easier to drop, having less torque and hp to spin the tires. I have raced an RSXs when I had the 04TL (5AT) and we were very close. Anyh mods for a honda engine with VTEC will boost top end dramatically...

what facts are u talking about. lol and i allready said that that hp rating doesnt matter; its whats at the wheels.

and its funny how you try to make it sound like .3 is a big difference.

also a cai doesnt do much for a cl. i had a 01 cl-s and had intake on it. also ive raced 6 spd cls with I/H/E it would be a close race for an 05+ rsx-s that had the same mods.

Believe what u want ive had an auto cl-s, driven a 6 spd cl-s and raced them

I love the DC5.

What was the point fo this thread again? In my opinion modded vs modded the DC5 would school the 2nd gen in all aspects of racing. Drag and grip.

your numbers indicate that the RSX has a better HP to weight ratio and it does not. end of story. The video clearly shows CL type S leaving it behind.

you stated

So rsx at 16.2 lbs/1 whp and auto CL-S is 17.55lbs/whp

obviously you are mistaken.

Thanks for playing, good bye

Its more the pos rubberbands that make it spin out at launching, if they were 235's or at least 225's that would take care of wheelspin..
