I am not sure which version I have, but do any of the updates change the layout of what appears on the screen (visually)?

yes, when I went from 2.05 to 2.2 (or 2.something)... the icons and the colors of certain places changed. Also, there were a few added options on the menu.

Angry

well if the past is any indication, they'll actually release it sometime in march and they'll sell out of the first batch right away and actually start shipping them in may.

I've been buying each upgrade as they come along, and they get more frustrating each time. They *really* need to sort the categories because its a pain to find things, with the number of points of interest increasing it gets harder and harder to find what you're looking for...
For 200$ a pop they could atleast put all of the radio shacks under the same category. As it is now, I have to play a guessing game as to which of the 50 categories it could be under, and not to mention that although streets are separated by state, businesses and restaurants and whatnot aren't, so of course half the time you have to sort through identically named places 2000 miles away.

If the streets in your area haven't changed its NOT worth it.

Maybe they'll have made some progress, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Yes, yes you can.

It's not worth the money if you have no major road changes in your area.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for CANADA coverage!

It's been in the newer gen Navs since they came out. For some reason, they keep leaving it out of our gen.

I don't care if it gets slower because of a bigger database, I just want Canada coverage. Canadian roads are mega-confusing!

I wouldn't mind if they went back to the cute Japanese chick voice from the 2.0x versions too!

Just a suggestion….

When I had my CLS I always bought the newest NAV DVD version immediately when it came out.
Then I threw the old one up on EBAY right away.
They consistently sold for 100+ so my upgrades never cost me more then 60-70 dollars.
That’s much better then 185.

If you wait too long there will be many other similar auctions running with the same version DVD and the price will quickly fall into the 50-60 dollar range.
That’s why I did it right away.

I don't know about Version 2.3 yet, but on the 2.11C I have, it's not quite like a guy... but pretty darn close. It sounds like a 40 year old lady who smokes 3 packs a day.

The big problem is that because of her low pitch, it kinda sounds like she's mumbling sometimes when she talks at freeway speeds and it can be hard to hear.

That's why I'm hoping for the return of the Japanese chick high-pitched voice!

Thumbs up WoooooooooW

This DVD is pretty sweet, it is my first upgrade so it’s a big change. If u have a 04-05 disk it might not seem as spectacular to you, but going from 2.03 to 2.30a is like turbo charging my navi.

Yes, her voice did change but its not as bad as you guys made it out to be (I think she now sounds like the MILF in American Pie) still i am sad that i lost the Japanese chick that has been talking to me for the last 2 years.

The system is also a little slow in its responses while navigating the menus, but guidance is the same speed if not faster. However the wealth of information is an easy compromise. In the town that I live in the mapped percentage went from 40 % (if that) to at least 92% that is crazy because Dover could never be classed as a major city.

I would say if u have anything less than 2.11 u most get this new disk. If you do a lot of driving in unfamiliar locations and you have 2.11+ you should get it. If you keep ur CL in the garage and only drive it on the weekends, and the only reason it has navi was because that was the only option and you wanted to say u have a fully loaded car, then you don't need it.
