This thing must have been pulled off the botom of a lake!

Not weird at all. That's what happens if you live by the ocean or if you barge your car anywhere. Mine was/is so bad that even the seat bolts on the interior are rusted. My car was barged and lives by the ocean. Double whammy

My rotors look almost like that on Monday mornings (if it rains and I haven't used the car on sunday)...
As to the condition of the engine bay... With 80,000 plus miles on it, that doesn't suprise me...
Do they put salt on the roads in the winter in CO ??
THe car on ebay doesn't look that bad for an east coast car w/ 80k on it that was driven during the winter...

They don't put straight salt on the roads here. They use a sand/salt mixture but it has very little salt in it. They do however, use a Mag Chloride stuff that's sprayed on the highways to prevent freezing. Now that stuff sucks!
