hey guys. about to buy a 01 CL-S, black on black, auto, 160k miles though,
runs good and need a little bit of work here and there.
getting a pretty good deal on it and didnt wanna miss out.
I'm taking the delivery (paying) on the 31st, but will be working on the car in the mean while.
I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them.
As of right now,
it has a lot of dents on it,
scratches
yellowed headlights
needs a power steering pump,
and not sure what else.
here are a few pictures of my current accord.

getting it for 5,
i'm pretty aware of the tranny issues.
by the way, i've been reading all the informative threads on here all night.
is the transmission oil cooler the permenant fix for the trannyh? can some one confirm this please.
also the tranny on this car looks like it's been replaced
what's the first thing i should do to make sure it doesn't take a dump on me. i'll definately change out the ATF right after i pay for the car.
I do get ON it every time, and already feel a little loss of power (today) from the first time i drove it which was a week ago.

got to work on it today and took some pictures.
here are some initial pictures, more detail/info below

The BIG DENT:

Starting to PDR the dent:

I got most of the top part out, the bottom will have to pulled out and repainted.
after i got done:

The second big dent:

after i got done w/ that one:

f'd up dash board: how do i fix this?

I took out pretty much all the dents on the passenger side, just have a few more left on the driver side.
This is also the longest i've ever worked on one car, and still haven't finished it, a hail car ofcourse takes a lot longer.
also got the Sunroof wind deflector off, couldnt' stand the looks of it.

by this Saturday:
- Right quarter, rear bumper, and the trunk will be repainted
- Headlights fixed
- Touch up all the chips
- buff the whole car, may be use a clay bar, and if have to will wet sand it.
- fix the powersteering pump
- the driver's powered seat doesn't recline any more ( any common problems here?) other wise i'll have to trouble shoot it and find out myself.
- Tint the taillights (may wait to get the 03s)
- fix the fog lights
- diagnose/reset airbag light
- replace tranny fluid
- do a major tune up on it
- Drop it (can't have fun driving a car thats not droped)
- Rims
- headers and exhaust
- may be supercharge it.

the dealership should be able to run the vin and find out what kinda work has been done to the tranny....BTW... take it from a 3rd tranny CLS guy... there are no fixes.. just miles between trannies...
... also... there was a recall on the airbag light that the dealership should be able to correct for no charge... it has to do with the actual seat belt lock mechanism.. which has NO mileage limitations according to federal law....

I bet it is...go to the FYI section specific to the CL, there should be a recall link...
I must be the only lucky CL-S guy... 114 k original tranny..... oil cooler installed around 50k.......
grats the ride bro, dont worry about the tranny, if its gonna break its gonna break, until then enjoy it, i hit vtec all the time in mine i drive it pretty hard, and have never had a problem (front motor mount is broke) but thats it

Hey welcome. Nicely done accord, I see good things in the future of the CLS (Please debadge the longhorn).
For that dash issue with it peeling away, the armrests do a similar trick around the window switches and there is a DIY on that using Gorilla Glue and clamps - try searching for that and go from there.
Since your going to repaint the trunk, you might want to consider filling in the holes left by the "A" and going badgless. It makes the CL's already sexy ass look even sexier, IMO.

got some work done over the weekend.
Saturday:
- Cleaned up the booty. only left the acura symbol on there.
still has some outlines from the other emblems.
- Fixed the driver side seat reclining problem. Turned out the whole rotating mechanism was rust jammed, but the motor was fine.
- Pulled the big dent out some more. F*kn painter never showed up so i couldnt' get that done over the weekend.
- Also reseted the airbag light, but SOB came back on as soon as i buckled in teh pass. seat belt. My miles are over 160 so i'm out of warranty. gonna have to fix it on my own.
Sunday:
Spent pretty much the whole day on the Accord cleaning it up and putting it up for sale.
pictures came out really good.
Monday (today)
- Cleaned out the headlights
- Did a little bit of cleaning of interior.
some pics:

Accord still looking clean!

oh yeah, it wasn't just plastX.
I did some wet sanding too.
First step was to buff it w/ plastX
Then wet sand the deep scratches/haze w/ 1000grit
Then the whole headlights w/ 2500grit
And finish it off w/ another hand of plastX.
I'm pretty satisfied w/ the work i did, but not w/ the finished product. They do have a lot of scratches that there is no way to fix em. the only fix would be to replace the headlights.

If you still have that SRS light on and it comes on when you plug the passenger seat belt in, thats what i used to have. If you take it to a acura dealer, they will replace it for free cause the belt buckle is part of acura's lifetime seatbelt warranty.
and the ride is coming along very nicely.
