I need to replace the ecm on my 03 Cl. I have researched 2 Honda/acura sites that say reprogramming software is not available for this model. My question is : is it not available, as in junk the car? Or is it just not needed?

 

to further help you; we need to know why you're replacing the ecm...
reprogramming can mean MANY MANY different things. it could mean the dealership reprogramming or it could be aftermarket tuning capabilty.
we need to know why you're replacing the ecm..because you're replacing a broken faulty part? or because you want to reprogram the engines parameters.

 

The car completely seized up yesterday. Brand new battery, ect..

 

Auto or manual transmission? I have both ecm's available, PM me for more info. I am willing to ship them!

 

Go onto car-part.com, populate the fields, search for 'Computer Box Engine'. If you have an automatic transmission there is a wide selection, if you have a 6-speed, not so much.

 

You Isolated the problem to the ECU how? Have you checked the main relay?

 

The diagnostics done by autozone, said the ecm was bad and the entire thing shorted out the next day. There is no power anywhere to the car. I turned the key, it tried to start, then I heard a zap and everything went black. How do you check the main relay?
