The New ECM....

For those of you who had their transmission replaced along with the new ECM, do you notice that the car will not redline anymore. In fact, it will actually go to next gear several hundred rpm's short of the redline. Except in SS. The original ECM allowed a 2-300 lee way past the redline before shifting now I calculate that there is a significant lost in rpm in the upper range. I guess one way of saving the transmission was decrease the strain that the high strung 3.2 will place on it. Sure the transmission shift better, but there is a lost in power. Now that I am on the lookout for a new car, I guess I am nick picking. 2004 TL is on my list right below the Pontiac Grand Prix. Which is no. 12.

1. 2000 740i Sport
2. Volvo S60R
3. Lexus GS 400
4. Cheverolet Cavilier Z24!!!
