Neuspeed Strut Bar... Need Help
don't order from carparts.com... order from autocarparts.com... there have been bad stories with carparts.com and i'm sure you probably don't want to go through all the bullshit some of the other members have gone through.
and the strut is for 98+ Accords.

i have had great experiences with carparts.com -- some people haven't. i have yet to use autocarparts.com since I have always found better prices. i will probably use them someday, and have heard nothing but good things about them.
as far as the bar, it is for the 98+ accord. i have posted part numbers for both the upper and lower, just search for them.

Update: I was originally told that I would get my strut bar in one week (back on 6/23). I cancelled the week before delivery and was promised that I was covered. So, when I wanted the bar -- I was rebuffed. When I had enough, and wanted the bar to go away -- I was promised that it was taken care of.
I am still trying to get rid of the order. I called UPS and they said they are going to try to deliver the unit today, so I can finally have the unit sent back to carparts.com. I've was also promised by the VP of Customer Service that I would NEVER receive the bar and that my card wouldn't be charged -- he even said he would pick the bar up himself. Guess what -- he won't even return my calls. I now have to block all of my shipments to my place and have to "RETURN" the bar back to carparts.com.
If you value your time, never deal with carparts.com -- you will regret it forever!
If you like hemorrhoids and stalkers, you will love carparts.com.
BTW -- if you hear a few good stories about them, remember that even stalkers have spared victims due to a lack of bullets (they didn’t carry enough ammo to waste everyone)!

i got mine from carparts.com, ordered the 29th of june, got a ship date of 7/11, and it was shipped out 7/13 and it's at my office right now.
i don't mind the wait considering it's gonna be sitting in the carton until the middle of august anyway.

well if it is the same (just w/o the P on the end) the P just means Polished aluminum, and costs a bit more.
Eric:
I understand you've had a rough experience with carparts.com -- but I've kinda been keeping count. I may not have accurate numbers, but there are 4 people I know of that ordered the strut bar from them. Out of the 4, 2 got them w/o any hitches, 1 got it but is still getting emails, and 1 (YOU) got totally screwed. I jokingly alluded to it in a previous post that maybe you brought this on yourself by being paranoid and calling a bunch of times. Maybe it is true? I wasnt worried (neither was mrdeeno) so we didn't call, and we got our bar. Am I mistaken? Did anybody else have problems? Fill me in please.

Buy from autocarparts.com -- I'm still got problems with carparts.com. Even their own people said I was getting the run around.

1. I did ask them before I placed the order for a "confirmed" date.
2. The representative on the phone promised that the part would ship from a CA warehouse and I would receive the part in 1 week!
3. I then received an e-mail that bumped the date up (I am actually rather patient).
4. Upon calling them to check on the order, the CS guy I call the weekend before 7/9 -- indicated that they had a problem with the supplier and that they were not a "stocking" supplier.
5. I cancelled the order and WAS ASSURED THAT NO PART WAS COMMING. Then I get a "your order is coming anyway".
6. I mentioned all of the broken promises with the VP of sales -- AND I will mention that he said that he would personally stop the order AND it was cancelled (I mentioned the fact that he said they were being bought out.
7. Now you have a top-level person who has made promises -- kind of like having a year of terrible service at a dealer. You write your letter for about your woes, and finally the VP of the dealer calls and promises a bunch of free services and work, etc.
8. Now you expect that things will calm down, but all the new promises are broken. In my case the e-mail keeps coming with a "We charged your card". However, unlike you, I have to send multiple e-mails to the VP, 'cause he is too em-BARE-ASSED to return my calls.
9. I have no UPS info and have to call all my vendors to locate and identify what is coming when to keep the dreaded bar from coming.
10. I finally get a UPS track code from the VP, but he doesn't stop the shipment. I now have all my packages and sign-offs cancelled to prevent the delivery of the package.
11. I get a note saying that they will reverse my pre-authorization -- but I only get this after I call AMEX to talk to them about this journey...
12. I am still waiting -- I now have to personally grab the bar and say "REFUSED" to the UPS guy. I also have to call between 5pm and 7pm to force the RETURN.
So, despite your "point" about being lucky to not call -- I was told that the order would be shipped to me in a maximum of 5 days (MAX!!!!!). My order was placed on 6/23/2001 and the UPS track says it will be hear today 7/16/2001. That is almost 4 weeks in getting here. The worst part of all of this is the "Xepher" aspect of BROKEN promises -- each and every promise was broken. So, should I have to go through this process because I was too diligent.
I repeat:
If you like hemorrhoids and stalkers, you will love carparts.com.
Especially accurate analogy here:
BTW -- if you hear a few good stories about them, remember that even stalkers have spared victims due to a lack of bullets (they didn’t carry enough ammo to waste everyone)!

4 happy customers.
1 PISSED OFF MUTHERFUKKA
Eric. I'm NOT arguing with you. I'm just trying to get a count. I dont know if it would've made a difference or not had you not called for a "confirmation date".

Comment:
You forget about various people that had their ship dates bumped way up… If you have the experience I just had, you would never let “friends” deal with the same people!
I now am quite sure I know why a certain individual will never ever do business with a certain vendor (Customer is not me and it the vendor is not Xepher).
BTW – did you notice how certain people got their stuff personally installed by Chris (Xepher), yet others got wrung out to dry – no refund, no call. If you go to a car dealer and hear about 3 other people who they DIDN’T screw, does that make it ok to screw just one or two people?
I just NOW received a notice from UPS that my package has been officialy "refused" and I can allow “regular” UPS package delivery to resume (Unless the carparts.com evil empire decides to harass me some more…

I am happy to wait (if that is what someone told me in the beginning). However, even though they may have delivered four packages (as you have said), can you all say that they kept their 5-10 delivery date (I'm giving them a break -- as I indicated I received a 5-day have-it-for-sure via phone.)
Also, if you call or talk to Tim (a real human being), he will at least give you the "honest" information and won't call you with his kids screaming in the background. Also, he does return e-mails and phone calls.
Finally, the VP of Cust. Service said they were being bought out and the total phone waits added up to 4- to 5- hours total!

I will never do business with carparts.com

Also, if you have problems -- you're on your own. I didn't have a problem with Neuspeed -- perfect delivery. And all of my purchases from Tim have been perfect-o. So, I get back to my -- who do you want to deal with in case you have a problem? (Russian roulette also comes to mind -- there is 1 bullet with 6 chambers [yes/no]?) I got sucked in by the stupid $30 rebate – never again.
