NE1 replace ABS Modulator yet?

I have to get a new one and wondered if someone has had theirs replaced and if so, where'd they get the part. Acura wants 1400 for this part. Curry Acura offered it for 625 on a re-manufactured part. Better price anyone know of?

I tried looking here http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...catdisplay.jsp but I didn't see it. Maybe you'll have better luck that I did.

I don't want to pay 1400 for a part on a car I plan on keeping 2 years more, max. It gets driven less than 1000 miles from April to late November. Local Acura store said they'd do the job for approx 200 bucks so they can do it, I was hoping to find a part at a better price.

hit the salvage yards.... some online salvage yards have the cars, you just need to contact them and tell them what you want pulled off it.

Tell me exactly what is wrong with your brakes?... the pedal feels mushy?.. the ABS light is on?... you get a surge in the pedal while braking?

i dont think so. you can see the abs box under the hood. vsa is more integrated into the car and receives input from abs sensors and others. but not sure on it.
i know im going to get flamed for this, but i would personally leave it out if it broke. i am biased a little due to a powerful brake upgrade. but seriously, it is POTENTIALLY MORE dangerous without, but at those prices, i would rather live without it, especially if you dont drive much. just my opinion.
i would say dont rush it if its just an abs malfunction, and drive a little more cautiously till you decide.
BTW, if you have the money and can afford, then definately do it. im a student so my way of thinking is a little different

I ask because I can't find the part number anywhere online for the ABS modulator. Only for the VSA.

hmmm... that would certainly justify the price. could be.. call the dealer and ask, parts should know as long as they are somewhat competent.

And the cheapest I've found it is $1,200.

yeah, sorry I just got back on a moment ago . . . . the vsa and abs light is on. I had it trouble checked at the dealer and they diagnosed the abs mod as being kapoot. No surge in the brake pedal but I haven't driven the car much at all. As Power sez above, I have left it out since last April but then again, I haven't driven it in the snow since just before it broke either. I have to have that back on in the winter, esp. w/ the driving I do. I'll keep you posted

i am having the same problem, but it is intermittent, the lights only go on about 1 or 2 times every two weeks. They told me the pump was about $700 so with labor i guess it would be right up there. They said my case may be due to the wires, they noticed it looked like a rodent had chewed on them a little so next time its in they are going to tape them all up and see if that works. If not, i will let it go, its getting traded in next spring anyway most likely.
