A Navigation touch screen PEN... for our navi's
I was wondering for our navi's has anyone tried using those pens used on the palm pilots? Just wondering because tired of fingerprints and keep cleaning it... so if the pens work I would rather go that route since its more easier to click on the buttons with those pens and also cleaner.
It's just a swipe with the included microfiber cloth once per week or so. What's the big wup? I'd hate to fumble for a plastic wand every time I wanted to use the Nav.
I know it's not the answer to your question though -- just my $0.02. I also cannot imagine that the dealer will be happy if (for some reason) you had to replace the screen and there were a ton of scratches or pits on it.

Scratches? How would you get scraches if your just pressing the screen lightly and you can use the joystick for other movements consisting of upward or downward movement on the mapguide screen.

i could be wrong but i believe the navi touch screen works from the heat on your finger, not the pressure. If you notice you dont have to even touch it, if you just get reallllllllll close without touching it it usually works. So unless you got a hot palm pilot pen, im not sure it would work anyway

HEHEHE.. Touch screens don't work by the principles of Heat or Pressure. They are either Resistive or Capacitve touch screens. When you touch the screen it will change the resistance or capacitance value at that curtain location, then the computer takes that locations address and activates that (X,Y) coordinate.

I believe that u are the more correct person.
But I always thought that it worked by light. When u touch the screen u blacken out an area on the screen. Then the Navi computer recognizes that area and computes for it. I'm just thinking in the way that my B&O system works.

A stylus will not work on these screens. I've tried. No luck.
Besides, touch screens that can be used with a stylus are usually harder/more rigid than those that are designed to work with one's fingertip. Using a stylus on a softer screen like that could make little dents in addition to the scratching that can occur from a stylus.
