Mystery Oil leak where teh heck is it coming from?

I have a leak that seems to be coming from the rear seal but I opened the access panel for the torque converter and it's dry inside.

This is driving me crazy where could it be coming from?

I think I found his thread which I believe is the rear seal that is leaking.

I opened the access panel and it's dry in there.

If it's dry between the engine and tranny, it may be coming from up higher on the motor. Check your valve covers and cam plug areas. I had a problem isolating the source of one leak and we ended up throwing some dye into the motor and using a black light to find the source.

Man, I had this same damn thing. Just a few spots here and there, then a bigger puddle, then just a few spots here and there. Then I changed the oil.... and it was gone

That is similar to what it did. I changed the oil, drove to Vegas (600 mi round trip) and there was a small puddle. I cleaned it up drove about 50 miles the next day small drops.

Then a few days nothing and it just stayed a bit moist on the transmission for a month.

Then some more small drips at which point I searched, saw the main seal threads, opened the access and dry as a bone.

Last week I did another oil change (I drive alot) and after a 380 round trip to lovely Yuma a slightly smaller puddle then after the Vegas trip.

I have looked at the area between the head and block and see nothing.

On a related note, I have no transmission issues, but although it seems fine should I treat the torque converter like I would a clutch & replace it for peace of mind if I end up pulling it?

What you need to do is crawl under the car with a good flashlight and start looking.

I have done that at least 10 times with this:
http://fenixgear.com/store/viewItem..../img/L1DQ5.jpg

Getting sick of jacking it up.

All I see is what appears to be oil coming from the top of between the engine &
transmission, open the access to the TQ & dry as a bone.

It was on a lift yesterday having the axel boots replaced and I looked for almost an hour.
