My "VSA" light and the ! comes on and stays on!

Why is that...It has done that twice and both times I had to turn off the car and back on to get it to go off. I tried hitting the VSA button but that didnt not help. What do yall think it is?? I have stock rims and tires and springs as well.

Dont mean to scare you, but this tends to happen when the tranny goes out. Hows your tranny?

Will this happen even before you start to see signs of the tranny going out?? It seems to shift fine.

take it to the dealer...i had the same problem....i was driving straight and the VSA would come on and im like WTF. It would do the same thing constantly so i took it to the dealer and they gave me a new VSA system. the system was broke. it took 2 weeks and it happened twice and took another 2 weeks again.

Possible solution:

Get a car without:

ABS
VSA
Power brakes
Power steering
Power sunroo... Heck power everything
Electric timers everywhere
AIR
More CPUS, parts, cables, and electronics than a Saturn Booster

<--->
Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) Vehicle (hand crank everything) or move to Amish community and get a buggy!

No way that would not be any fun . Besides I have owned a car like that...my first car was a 84 Subaru that was like the striped down base model 4 door, but for real its not that I hate acura now...its just that I have owned 4 other Honda/Acura and they never had a single problem...I was just supprised that I am having so many now. I wonder if that is because this is the first model year for this car?

You think it is useless... wait till you are on the verge of losing control (oversteer) or plowing in the raod side rails (understeer) and thank the VSA when it saves your sorry ass...

If it's useless, Why BMW, MB, Acura, Infinitity and all other premim cars have one? you do not know, cause it is not useless...

Nashua...
what now?

I am just giving my friend crap...

VSA is good in normal driving... but in aggressive driving it impedes your ability to take a corner correctly or power through something.

HellaWhat is a prime example... we were driving around the mountains of Northern California... and the VSA clicked on when he took a corner and it almost took him into a 4 runner b/c he ended up drifting over a lane into oncoming traffic.

Or myself...
I had a plow situation... and did the VSA help... not really.. I luckily got grip again and did not plow into some parked cars...
the VSA may have helped but it really did not give me grip until really late...

Did this occur during driving or upon start up??

My car has occaisionally, when it is cold out, kept the VSA, SRS, etc light on. By stopping and restarting it cleared up. Dealer has looked at this without uncovering anything, I chalk it up as an Undocumented feature.

It has done this for nearly two years.

Ever since my tranny was replaced my VSA, ABS, and ! lights come on at times and stay on. When this happens, the VSA and ABS nolonger function. I have to shut off the car and start it back up before they work again. I had one of the speed sensors replaced the other day but it didn't fix the problem. I'm bringing my car back in tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens.

I broke my own "rules" when I bought my CLS "as the first model year for this car"...

In the past, I had always gone for year 2+ "runs", but ... I just couldn't resist. I'm still lucky (with low-miles and with plenty of knocking on wood).

Good thing the transmission doesn't power someone's kidney machine (even with 1-3% failures)

I'm still waiting to see who is going to be the first to offer a "the new century's brutal lean-and-mean hand-cranked machine" sports coupe...

i hate to tell u also, but that happened to me and when it did, my tranny was totally FUCKED. Had to take it in and get a rental car cause the car needed a new tranny. funny thing is i had to bring it back in last week casue it felt like it was slippin again, and the damm thing had no tranny fluid. U would think there would be a light for low tranny fluid, considerin how important it is.
But the other weird thing was that while i had the loaner RL, i had rode the car till it had like no gas in it, and it was soo empty that all the vsa lights came on and once i put some gas in it, it was fine. But the check engine light and sevice lights were on. I think it needed its oilchanged, dont know but it only had 5 thousand miles on it so it couldnt have a broken tranny just YET>/

NOLACLS:
I have the same problem as well.

For me, my VSA and ! lights turn on after driving the car for an "extended" period of time, say an hour or hour and a half. No turning or slipping or anything that would activate the VSA -- just cruising around.

I tried turning the VSA on/off and it wouldn't matter -- the lights were still on. The only way I could get rid of the lights was to turn off the ignition and then restart the car.

As for tranny -- mine seems to be fine, I don't think (hopefully) it has anything to do with the tranny. Maybe something is causing the VSA sensor to overheat and turn on when driven for over an hour?

When does the problem happen for you -- same as mine, after driving for a while?
