My Mechanic put in super....
I have just looked at my mechanic's 03 CLS 6-spd. He finally put in Comptech supercharger blower kit, 75 Shots of NOS, Header, exhaust, sway bar and suspension. He claimed that his CLS has about 440 horsepower. What do you guys think?

He is about to put it on the track in 2 weeks. Before he put the supercharger in, he ran 13.74 sec with 75 shots of NOS. During that run, he beat a Z06 Corvette and he showed me the receipt. He will definitely make it at least low 13's with this new supercharger.
BTW, he's our master mechanic at our Acura dealership!

i did some calculating, and being very generous, the most he is pushin to the wheels is 366. now that is if headers gave 28, exhaust 3, SC kit 48, and about 70 for nos.
if you multiply by 15% (i dont know what manuals drivetrain loss is, but i am sure its close to 15) then you get about 420 crank. this is all peak hp though, and this if conditions are good, and he has some decent fuel.
the only way he could get close to having 440 crank is if he had the high boost pulley. even then things could get dangerous, i hope he's got direct port if he has more hp plans.

If he is referring to crank HP it isn't out of line. Say he lays down 370 WHP, which is conceivable with everything running properly, and the CL-S6 loses about 17% through the drivetrain (the HLSD zaps a couple percent extra). 370 / 0.83 = 445 Crank HP.
So this may be on the optimistic side of possible, but still conceivable.

i say if your mechanic fixes as good as he drives then you should find another dealer...a 6mt and a 75 shot and he can only muster what ive done with alittle ole bottom end swap 15 hp,20 lb ft, and now what ...he'll prolly manage a 13.4 at 106...tell him i said this....
I believe him, I would just be interested on any fuels problems that he is expeirencing. I know that my biggest fiend preventing my car from reaching full potential is my VSA. the 6spdr doesn't, I want to see numbers!
You guys surprise me with you're ignorance in doubting a supercharged CLS with a 75 shot couldn't have 440 hp to the crank.
With the high boost pulley the CLS can lay down 300 to the wheels, which is 375 to the crank, add the 75 shot and you're there guys.
You should pay more attention to what Scalbert posted, as he knows what he's talking about.
A Z06 runs mid 12's, so 13's isn't going to get it done as I've seen them run at the track many times.
Do I doubt this guy, I have no idea but his 440 statement is possible.

i've seen plenty of z06's and vipers in 14's before. A lot of people don't know how to drive
