My car and some questions

How fast is a 01 Cl-p Automatic at the track?
Anyone ever tried it?
And the rest of the questions are in my signiture.

I dont care if its an autmatic cl im 15 and its my first car. I was raised on v8 cars but my dad sold the car i was going to get(93 mustang 5.0 dynoed at 410 horse and 514ft pounds of torque).
Then he bought a Ford Lightning.
oh is it sweeeeeeet!!!!!!!!
That is besides the point though, my mom has a cl and she is giving it to me.

Thank you for your help.

Are you kidding me man? You are 15 just got a Cl for your first car and you wondering whether to sell it or not. That is just ungrateful and spoiled if you ask my opinion. I got a Cl-S and I am 16. It is also my first car, I can not thank my parents enough for letting me get it, even though I paid basically half of it. It is a great car and every day I am just so greatful that I was lucky enough to get such a nice car. I just can not respect anyone whose first car is a Cl and he is asking if he should sell it. Ungrateful!

My bad i didnt tell you everything.

I have to take over 450 dollar payments a month and insurance so it is gonna be a tight budget for me that is why i am wondering.

I dont want to sound spoiled but my dad raised me on cars and its his fault im like this. But either way i pay for everything on all my choices of future cars.

i Priced a GTI and i could get it for 325 a month for 5 years that is more what i want to spend.

359 for the extreme

Sorry

Alrite, that was my fault. Everything is a different story. Good luck with whatever you decide. Insurance on my Cl-S was 3,000 a year, I don't know what you got priced at.

Well you sound like someone who wants nothing but the raw power and speed...if that's the case, I would pass on the CL. The CL-S is strong, but bulky. The best time I've seen so far is by mattg at a 14.2 and that's with basically all the mods possible short of a supercharger and nos. For about three grand of modding that your looking to spend, that's most likely the best time you would be able to pull. But keep the CL if you like something that is classy, quick to a certain extent, nice features, and looks nice, I would definitely stay with it. To each his own....

speed but still reliable

but does anyone know how fast it is with an auto?
Im not nessacarily worried about power but if i could get 260 out of it and 50 shot i would have a blast. I am very responsible when it comes to cars so the bottle will be mostly for the track.

What is the difference in motor to give the cl-s the extra horses,
Camshafts, the manifold, exhaust?

All CL-Ps are auto! the 6speed didn't come out untill the '03 model and it is only on the type-S.

thanks

Thanks for the numbers.

I have noticed something, they do not make alot of body kit or Ground effects that are not to import style.

Does anyone have pictures of one with lowered with ground effects and moderate front fascia?

Once again, What is the difference in motor to give the cl-s the extra horses,
Camshafts, the manifold, exhaust?

Thanks alot,

Mark

Do a search for thes people: oonowindoo (custom skyline kit), charlesnguyen (tl kit on cl), the SEMA CL-S (Honda's custom CL-S), and a few others I can't remember. I believe the difference in motor for the the S is the camshafts, and the exhaust has a free-er flowing cat, and also the compression.

the CLP is not a race machine, i repeat not a race machine :shakehd:

I wouldn't encourage you to get a faster vehicle because of your age, however, the CLS is a different league and a much more powerful car if driven right. And the insurance for the CLS may be much more than the CLP, perhaps twice more depending on your insurance co. and your age too. Theres a reason for the high premium, the insurance company is betting, with some precision, that if you pay them to take the risk inherent in you and your car then they would have to be adequately prepared for the worst AND still be making a profit. And its also an incentive, psychologically and financially, not to mess up your car.

overall, CLP is a great car for beginners, in fact marvelous.
CLS, however, to me isn't one...its ludicriously fast for a beginner car and the addiction i bet is terrible too but its a high risk to pay when flirting with speed.
