My A/C doesn't cool down the car.
Yay, something else to take the car in for.
I set it to full auto, it turns on recirc and turns the fan up all the way and 20mins later it's still like that and the car is just barely cool.
I rarely use the A/C so it makes even less sense for it to stop working properly. I've used it maybe 30 days out of the 390-some I've owned the car.

I must also admit that I've had much better air conditioners than in the CL. I always seem to get poor air conditioners and then I get into other people's cars and it seems like my hands are goign t oget frozen off.
I think at my next service appointment I'll have them see if it is working properly.

Where is my super sauce?
My A/C is great also. Just the other day I was driving across humid PA to Harrisburg/Hershey and the OAT was measuring over 95 F the whole way (I'm sure with 75% humidity). The A/C purred along fine and kept things a cool 69.
I even opened the passthrough to the trunk to keep my suitcase and chocolate (from Hershey) nice and cool.
My Integra before this always was nice and cool too. Both cars do well to freeze you if you want it.

Actually not using the system can cause leaks. Whenever you turn on the A/C it circulates a small ammount oil in the lines which keeps all of the seals good.
I hope it doesn't take them long to find the leak... If you do have one...

I called the service dept and am taking it in tomorrow morning at 9:30AM.
Hmmm I wonder if they could just take out the whole A/C system to save me a bunch of weight and drag on the engine. j/k

Mine's been consistently good for the last 2 years. Lately we've had many 90+ days here and the A/C couldn't be better. I don't think it's a problem with the CL in general, that's good that you're haveing it looked at.
Note: I do have 35% tint.

Yes, it is a good idea to turn the A/C on for a few minutes every month or so if you don't normally use it...that helps extend the life of the compressor and associated lines.
My CL-S has a great cold A/C and here in humid Florida (90's a lot recently) good A/C is a must. Friend with a BMW has commented several times on how cold my A/C is compared to hers.

I've been having problems with my a/c too!
Its never worked right from DAY 1 - its got almost 10k miles now.
The problem is as follows: I'll turn the a/c ON say @ 60...... the car will start cooling down so i'll increase the temp at 65.... no change... so i'll up it to 70... all of the sudden it'll start throwing almost warm air and its warm in the car now..... so i'm moving down to 68, 66, 64... with no cool air... and i'll end up taking it back to 60.... where (u guessed it) it'll get too cool and the cycle is repeated till ur mind goes numb from this.
But now just recently the coolness of the air does change as i want but it'll blow cold air for 20 secs then it'll throw air like the A/C's not even on " And the coolness of air it throws at 70 is really equal to that of 80
I dont know about u guys in other states but here in TX, leaving the car alone in the sun for 3 mins in the summertime and it's a freakin OVEN with leather seats!
I've told those punks at the dealership but they "cant duplicate the problem"

Set the A/C to a temp. that is good for you and leave it there. The car has an outside and an inside temp. sensor. If your car is hot inside, the FULL AUTO setting will increase the air to help cool faster, but will slowly decrease as the car cool down. If you keep changing the temp. the car trys to get there and it takes time. Acura claims a 17,000 BTU A/C system in our cars, thats alot. Your car should cool fairly quickly. I leave mine on 68 deg. almost all of the time, and I can't complain. In other words.....Set it and forget it .

damn, maybe threads should just be auto deleted after a certain time. people seem to ask the same questions over and over again anyways. what is the point in having old threads to search through anyways?
