I agree. 14.2 @ 98mph is pretty quick for a fwd v6 automatic, but it's not going to impress most people at a drag strip. Hell, my Mustang runs nearly identical to that and I think it's slow as shit. You don't really have a "fast" car until you run 12's in 100% street trim, imo.

I will have to say there is some truth to jtkz13's post. Nowadays there are so many fast cars on the road, you really can't impress anyone unless you are running 12's or quicker in street trim.

Anyhow, nice run darrinb

the alt @ the track is 600 feet john

i gotta agree w/ everyone esle, 14.2 is good for my car but its not fast at all, i think a quick car is high 13's low 14's, a fast car is low-mid 13's, anything 12 and under is just fast as fuck, but if i was only worried about 1/4 times i wouldnt be in this car...

Nice card dude! It's good to see that after being at Norwalk this past Saturday and seeing the Eclipses f-ing DOMINATE at mid 12's and better.. OMG are those things faaaaaast.

I guess there's hope for the CL-S auto yet..

BTW: how do you start off the line? (rpm, etc) and are you using "sport-shift"?

I just ran a 10.132 at 144 mph in my G35!!!!

Seriously....good times Darren. I've never done the quarter in any of my cars, but I suppose I would try it. It looks fun, but tires for the G sure are pricey!!!! Nice work, young man.

why is a 14.2 so unbeleivable? the dude has all the basic bolt ons...not a big deal everybody with those mods can run a 14.2 with a nice low temp outside.

my 02 CL-S ran 14.3@99 with just obx headers, and comptech springs...no other mods...no CAI, no pulleys, no exhaust, nothing...that was gate shifting with an empty trunk and gas tank.

The GN has a 3.8 Liter motor with a Garrett Turbo, not an SC. Was that S/C appreviation for something else??

A stock GN is capable of running low 14's to high 13's.

jim, it was sub 40 deg when u ran.... it was 60 when i ran, if it was 40 deg when i ran 14.2 that could of been a 13.9 or 14.0, but I know i cant say what if......

It could be -100 degrees outside.. no way you are running a 13.9 with only I/H

The CL only loses power in high humidity and really hot temp's. A 40 degree day compared to a 60 degree day won't make much of a difference at all. The colder it is outside, the harder it is for the stock tires to hook up.

The track seemed pretty grippy. We were really surprised. The first few races spun a little, but from there it was tight. Mostly "hopping". The track guys were really good about getting up *all* spills & debris too. I know some places aren't that finicky but they def. kept it kleen.

& it was low 80's & mostly sunny, avg humid, etc.

1) His car has much higher mileage than mine
2) It's heavy as sh*. Maybe heavier than my Tankura
3) My friend rode the short-bus--so i'll probably get him on reaction time for sure! :-D

It doesn't matter tho. It'll be fun to see what this car will do (legally) ..will post if/when.

Again, need more mods.. ;-)

LOL, your gonna get schooled if his car is running at all decent.

That heavy as shit car pulled higher numbers on the skid pad than your CLS. And is faster stock than your CLS will be with all of the bolt ons.

Do some reading on the GN.

Ya you could beat the driver, but that's all you'd be beating.

Ya could be right. One way to find out tho. Maybe a plug wire will fall off his car or something.

And I like your avatar. But what exactly would the "product" of that copulation be?!
