Mugen vs Comptech

Does anyone have Mugen catbacks. I've been doing some research and it (Mugen) appears to have an air return on the catback . How does it perform vs comptech and since it is double the price do you think it is worth the money.

The Mugens are just like the comptech, and are only the mufflers. I'm actually picking up my car in an hour from the shop. The Mugens stick out wayyy to much on the CL. So far this exhaust cost me around $1600. Not worth it for most people
I did gain 3hp, and 3tq throughout the whole rpm range.

What about HKS? I like the way they look the best, but they hang kinda low. I wonder if there's room to bend the hooks a little so they hang a little higher....

Then I'd probably buy those.

Man after hearing all the 1st gens with their fartpipes tonight, I'm jealous.

Thanks Dude. So in the end do you regret the Mugens?. Do you think I'm better off with Comptechs or HKG.

I really love the way the Mugens look. If I had to do it all over again, I would probably stick with the comptechs. It was just way too much money, and a hassle to get them cut to size. If it fit perfectly from the factory, I would go with Mugen again.

Thanks for your help. The guy doing my mods was the one who talked me into the Mugens. I wanted to go with the Comptechs, he stated that the mugens fit better and had more power. He did acknowledge the price difference but assured me I would be happier with the Mugens.. Hmm. I dunno, anyway..thanks for your input..bye the way your ride looks good with the Mugens.

Thanks. I wouldnt say that the Mugens fit better. My tips stuck out wayyy too much. About 2" longer then the comptechs. Thats why I had to modify the exhaust. This also wasnt exactly a minor modification either. The exhaust had to be cut at two different places. Only one shop was willing to do the modification for me.
