Mugen T-Stat Correction

I just met up with dj_3000 to check the stat he ordered from King Motorsports and tried to install but was incorrect. As it turns out the B-Series stat is incorrect. As it turns out the H-Series stat is the correct one:

THERMOSTAT 19301-XGMR-0000 $69.00

What a coincidence, I ordered the B-Series stat and they must have mistakenly shipped the H-Series unit which fit. It wasn't until I checked the package that I noticed the different part number. So below is a listing of the correct part numbers for our car:

THERMOSTAT 19301-XGMR-0000 $69.00
FAN SWITCH 37760-XK5-00N0 $45.00
RADIATOR CAP 19045-XGER-0000 $29.00

If you have already ordered the part you will need to exchange the stat which from my experience is not a problem with King Motorsports. But that does explain why the B-Series unit which allmotor ordered from JR didn't fit.

Steve, thanks for taking to time to drive out and checking the thermostat out for me. I will be sending this one back to King and getting the correct one.

I'm not surprised you dont feel a difference because it wasn't a performance mod, but do you feel that it will help the car run smoother and more reliable?

sometimes a mod isn't about performance but also about increasing the quality of the parts installed which i'm guessing is the reason why you guys have opted to have these parts installed.

Ah, but it is somewhat a performance mod. Well, at least in the sense that it keeps you from losing power. I tested it on the dyno and so did TOV, both with about the same results. The ECU runs more timing in the order of about 2 - 3 degrees.

Maybe i'll get these installed sometime soon, who would you recommend to install them? I installed my icebox myself, you think i could install these myself or should i have them done by a mechanic?
