Mr TL or SilverKnight ? on shock sensor

Partsexpress.com has some shock sensors that I was thinking of buying. Does the shock sensor need to have 4 wires? How do you turn off the alarm when its going off?

hello spiroh. i haven't done this shock sensor thing yet but i am assuming if you hit the unlock or lock buttons on the remote fob, it would shut of the alarm since i believe you will be tapping into the stock alarm, right.

Hey icyCL wanna join jrock, Ageancls phitl and me when we do the shock sensor? we also might add prox/motion sensors. and make it dual stage by adding a relay. Silver, was also talking about adding a siren so it makes a chirp instead of teh ususall beep when it arms.

Let me know if your in. I still havn't seen your car.

Hey Spiroh,

I was planning on getting one from that site too, the bulldog one for $8.

My buddy and I are going to put it on next week.. I believe that is a dual stage sensor (warn away) and the actual trip..

Some of the members from the TL board have wired both the warn away and trigger to one wire..

Mr tl's instructions are for sensors that are just 3 wire. You could siimply wire up the three needed and not the warn away one and it should work just fine.

Hope this helps..

spiroh,
Single stage sensor has 3 wire (power, ground, trigger), dual stage has 4 (with the addition of (warning trigger).
When there is a vibration, single stage sensor grounds the trigger wire while dual stage grounds warning trigger (light vibration) or trigger (strong impact).
If the security system dectects ground on one of its input wires, it goes off. To turn off, just press a button. The yellow wire I mentioned in the template is the hood input (in case the hood is popped open while the system is armed).

Hope this helps. Good luck, bro.

NovawhitetypeS, the siren project is negative. the security system delay time is too long. In stead of making a chirp, I got about 2 sec. of siren going off.
The dual stage trigger with the factory buzzer will drain the battery through the relay so I'll abandon it. I guess I'll settle for 3 shock sensors (hood, sides) no motion. sorry to disappoint you. Good luck with your project.
