I love the vibrations

On a serious note, Im probably in the minority here, but I have no problem with extra vibrations. If I want to put the power down and not go through mounts every year Ill gladly deal with a bit more "feeling".

Right now I'm fairly happy with the Ingal Stiffy, OEM rear and Innovative front (3rd gen with black bushings) and side mounts. I think with this set up the OEM rear will hold up as the motor movement is minimal so the there's a lot less stress on all the mounts.

The only question is for those that want no vibrations . . or very very minimal
can the Stiffy be set soft enough for them and still do the job.

Someone defiantly dropped the ball on this; whoever the manufacturer is on these should be put in contact with us, I know there are a few engineers floating around the forum me being one of them. I am, and I'm sure others are willing to help with the design. . . but at this pace nothing is ever going to be accomplished. Were you getting any vibrations with the Innovative front and side combined with the stock rear? (before you added the Ingalls)

I tried working with Innovative, but they treated us like 'these car owners don't know anything about design and engineering'.

I have the 2nd release/gen of the Innovative side mount, Innovative proto-type 3rd generation front mount with black bushings and OEM rear mount. The vibrations are no worse than many lowend 4 cyl and 6 cyl cars. With the Stiffy there's more vibrations and it's not too bad, however with the A/C on and in drive it's more than an old fart like me wants in a daily driver. That said, I would rather have a bit more vibration than have mounts busting all the time.

If you search on the older Motor Mount threads there's one with all kinds of details, pictures and even a video of the 'TL Vibration Beast' that had Innovative mounts all around.

from what ive read, avoid the 60A bushings as they eventually donut out from use.

So is innovative or oem the way to go for a daily driver who wants durability more than anything?

So are the front and side innovative mounts fine, just not the rear? I am starting to think i should just buy innovative. Also how can i tell if it is the 2nd or 3rd version. I am about to give up on these ones.

Ah . . . hate to tell you, for 2nd gens - other than the side mount - none of the Innovative mounts have held up. A few of them crapped out sooner than the OEM mounts. I hope yours hold up better than mine.

PS: The problem isn't with Excelerate, it's with the fabricator.

but does it really matter who it is with, all i really care is that we don't have decent mounts yet (the stiffy mount did help tremendously with engine movement, but still not enough after going manual though {i got it set on the stiffest setting)

See my post right above.

Innovative doesn't have anything that's been proven to work by even one single member here (2nd gens). If you are okay with a poorly designed mount that results in frequent bushing failure (and unexceptable vibrations with the rear mount - mostly an AT issue), and still want to go with them . . . good luck.

Understand and am just as unhappy as anyone here. I've put in way more time than most anyone here and have spent more money than most anyone here, so I'm a bit more than unhappy or sad. That said, I just don't want miss information going out as Excelerate is as pissed with the fabricator as we are . . . he's spent time and money trying to get someone to make a product that'll work for us. He's still commited, but is strung out like we are.

FWIW, I spoke to the fabricator last week and they told me that they shouldn't have any problems getting through customs, which is what they claimed was their latest snaffu. On another note, they told me they used all the design input from me and others . . . so I'm really hoping something will show up the next week or so. But, seeing how we've been stood up before, don't hold your breath.

Also, since my transmission went out this week and it will likely be a couple of weeks or so before I get it fixed . . . we may need someone else to field test the mounts. PLEASE don't start volunteering yet . . . I'll talk to Excelerate about it if the mounts come in before I'm ready to do anything with them.

Stay tuned . . . hopefully we're getting somewhere . . besides a black hole.

i can send you some spare parts if you like , since my old tranny is torn apart (5th gear was overheat, and basically worn down to the backing plates on the clutch discs)

I'm not planning on NOS at this time, but I was shooting for 13 sec 1/4 miles with an auto tranny, so I'm putting down some good power. I've been blowing OEM mounts regularly, so like you and others a performance mount is needed. I will say the Ingalls Stiffy seems to help a lot.

no, i have been doing a 100 shot, and want to eventually go bigger, and see what the engine can really handle (i think a 200+ shot should be good)

but yeah the stiffy helped, but still not enough though

I am all for this though not an egineer. Few months ago I filled my OEM mounts with polyurethane and effectively turned them to solid mounts with both the advantages and disadvantages, and I'm trying to find a way to get plush idle and planted pulls at the same time since that.

Getting through customs huh? Why not go with U.S. manufacturer at least for the prototypes? Now I see the reason for delay you've had to deal with Chinese b.s. These mounts are already down the toilet in my opinion but I hope you can prove me wrong.

Anyway, not heard anything this week . . . it must be on a very slow boat . . if it's even been shipped.

Im hoping my doubts aren't well founded and I really want an option for mounts. But over the course of this thread Ive really lost confidence that the fabricator has any interest in making these.

Well . . . maybe we have something shipping. Both Excelerate and myself were on the phone with the fabricator today. A tracking number is being provided so once Excelerate has that bit of info we'll know for sure. The estimated timeline is that Excelerate will have the mounts Friday (11/5), inspect them, ship them to me . . . so I may have them by (11/12) if everything passes muster. It'll be good timing as I'll be pulling my tranny (again) this week, so the mount install will be easy.

Let's hope they ship, and more importantly that they WORK!

But when I stomp the skinny pedal the RWD/Quafe LSD just makes me forget it!

Whats up with this?

i believe there have been design revisions.

when they first came out they were vertical mount like these ones

the revised mounts sit horizontally, thus better distributing the stress on the bushing

i know the pictures i posted werent for the same cars, but the mount designs were similar.

i know plenty of 6th gen accord guys running the revised mounts, and havent had any issues.

only issue though is that our cars are roughly 300 or so pounds heavier iirc, and then we also have a bigger motor to go along with that too, which just equates to more stress on the motor mounts

wow you guys actually think you know how to design? please what you feel is better is so far out in no man's land I had to laugh, the vertical bushing mount is pitiful and will never last no matter the durometer of the rubber or polyurethane, read DESIGN FLAW from the get go. You should actually seek out designers and FEA types not shade tree mechanics.
