Manual Trans Question : shift lockout mechanism
Manual Trans Question : shift lockout mechanism
Ok I'm having a brain cramp and searching isn't going well. What is the official name of the "lockout mechanism" that prevents you from shifting past 5th and 6th gear while moving?
Mine isn't working and I want to consult my Helms and figure out what controls that.
Thanks

Reverse lockout solenoid? Looks like it's about $200. Ouch.

[God I love written quotes!]...I got it back and was like "I can't get into 5th!" ... Turned out the reason being is that solenoid was messing up. I have a check engine light that points to a defective o2 sensor.. but i still an guessing its related to a code from the Reverse Lockout Solenoid!. Made them order a new set of gears on their dime and will see what happens this time before I cancel the AmEx charge
