Maint. Req. Light

When I got into my car this morning I noticed that the light was doing it's little blinking thing. I have 13600 miles on her. I looked in the book and could not find anything. Is this just starting to remind me of the 15K service?

that is correct! As you get closer the light will stay on longer and longer as a reminder.

Thanks. That is what I though it was. I will reset it next time I get in it.

Morning guys and galls if there are any out there?????? The blinky light is a reminder as to give you warning to go to the scheduled check up. If it gets anoying enough and you know you wont forget then read on... If you will forget close page now and just let the darn thing stay anoying and take the car in when it is time.
For those of you who get anoyed easily your answer follows..... Turn your car off push both the milage reset and trip buttons down and turn your ignition on. keep those two buttons down for just over ten seconds and let go. This should relieve the little anoying blinky light.
Now remember, only do this if you are sure that the light is on only to anoy you before the scheduled check up. Otherwise, the car's CPU could be sensing that there is prob ie. if motor mount goes out the blinky light will do the same anoying thing Blinkity blinkity blink blink bllink. Hope this helps

Give me a break....the light says "maint req"...the index tells you the page and then you know how to fix it.

The book did not say that if will start blinking prior to the 15K mark.

The blinky light begins to warn you that it is getting near 7,500 miles since it was last reset, after 7,500 it will remain on (page 63 in the 2001 manual). They have to stop writing these things for high school level readers..
