D4 LED goes out?

As I was paused in traffic today, I confirmed a sight that I thought had happened a few times now and then, but never really catching it in time.

As I was in this pause, I looked down at the dash, specifically on the left where it indicates what gear you are driving in. I was driving in D4, as I normally do. However, when I looked down, the indicator was blank, so nothing was lit. The light came on about 10-15 seconds later.

A few times ago, I could have sworn this happened, but while I was driving. Therefore, when the green relit, I thought maybe it was the sun's brightness playing tricks on my eyes, being much brighter than the D4 LED.

Anyway, does this seem to be a bad sign? No physical signs of tranny failure JUST YET

Thanks for your help guys!

my 2001 does that every so often if it's not 100% in the right spot(shifter).

my 2002, never happened...maybe it wears out a little bit over time.

Maybe it's just a bad diode. Check with Acura anyway to be sure.

I doubt it is caused by the tranny. I would guess a bad electrical connection someplace.
