Loud swishing noise after crank pulley install

I got the crank pulley installed, everything was fine at first. Drove the car across country and now I have this loud swishing noise. I can hear it really good at idle seems like its coming from somewhere around the drive belts. Timing belt was changed 4 months ago. I need help, my headers seemed to be making a loud metallic sound at all rpm ranges, sometimes even when I'm going 5 mph did some research and I'm going to check the heat shield...My car sounds like a piece of shit...swish swish swish swish...add a little metalic noise and

Any help is greatly appreciated

Swishing, as in liquid swishing around or air? Either way, while the car is running, make sure that your power steering fluid resevoir isn't bubbling up like crazy. I had a liquid/air swishing sound, and there was a small air leak in the power steering system, that caused it to bubble up.

Not like air swishing...Something is wrong with the belts, I am going to check the tension on them...I guess swishing isn't a good way to explain it...more like wick...wick...wick... wick...wick at idle and I think I can hear it when I'm pressing on the gas, but I don't here it after I'm going over 25 mph or I get the car moving...It doesn't get louder when I hit the gas

The shop threw in a supercharger while installing your pulleys as a gift.

Like spoon said, could it be the valves or your purge solenoid valve?

Check your spark plugs. If one of them "backed out" it could be the air/compression rushing past the loose plug, creating a "chuff, chuff" sound.

Yes, check the tension. New belts will stretch after they are driven a few miles and they need to be retensioned. If the noise is still there after you retentioned the power steering belt (the AC/Alt adjustment is taken care by the belt tensioner) try shooting a little silicone spray on the belts and see if the noise goes away. Did you do the pulley install yourself? Make sure that the belts are fully seated on the pulleys. I have seen those serpertine type belts that are not seated correctly and one of the ribs of the belt riding on the edge of the pulley. They sound ok when you first start the engine but after driving a few miles start to make noise and eventually the belts start to shred because the edge of the pulley starts to cut into the belt. That's worst case senario.....

I too had the same problem, with the swishing noise. My mechanic inform me the belts where tad to tight, so I had to purchase slightly bigger belt.......so it will loosen the tension on the pulley. They belt size that was recommended for the 04 TL was a 060820, but I went up to 060825........and this remedied the problem.
