Lost a door sill today!

I have some custom "Acura Cl Type-S" aluminum door sills for my car, and the passenger side one got so loose from a combination of the cold weather here, poor adhesion and road vibration, that it literally fell through underneath the door and on the street somewhere in DC! There went $32.50 right out the door. Oh well, if I had knew what a pain they were anyway, I would never have got them. I learned my lesson the hard way!

Glad I backed out of that order way back when...

Sorry to hear about your loss...

door sills don't work on these cars very well, to that interior plastic part they don’t adhere, and to the lower body panel they will be seen when the door is closed
I gave up on the idea.

I like mine. They look good I think if you have the brushed aluminum interior. I think they would look silly if you have to the wood interior or at the very least you don't have the ebony interior color. Mine seem to be sticking pretty well but they have only been there a week so far. Did you clean the part of the door where you stick them with some strong cleanser or alcohol before you stuck them down? I didn't bother to heat up the tape but I heard that helps too.

I got momo sills, they're still sweet, not as long as the cls sills just small enough to avoid getting scratched everytime you get out of the car. Adhesive holds strongly, 4 months of winter now.

Damn.. It is really that bad??

I got them about a month ago, but due to bad weather, I decided to wait until spring to install them.. but I guess after hearing what everyone is saying about it.. I think I just threw $80 out the window.

Damn again..

well the stock sills r a nice snug fit and stay in place when they're in right...my passenger sill was raised in the middle from the factory...after about a month of owning the car, i flat out tore it off and looked at how it was put in...1 of the prongs was so torn up, it looked as if someone kept banging it to force it to fit...after reshaping the prong somewhat and repositioning, it went all the way in, snapped in just fine and over 2 years later had no issues

I cleaned it and heated it, still didn't work well. My driver's side is ok, guess i'll leave it on. most people see only that one anyway.
