get some phillips HID d2r bulbs part number 85126...check out ebay seller akinaboy....tell him ross johnson refered you from acurazine. he should remember you and maybe cut you a deal...heres a link to his products http://search-desc.ebay.com/search/s...&fsop=1&fsoo=1

and heres the exact bulb you need... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-New...spagenameZWDVW

IMO you cant beat his deals....50 bux for brand new pair of OEM HID stuff. if your looking to upgrade i would say to get these....i have heard they are a little brighter and have a nice color to them and also last longer. (they are some new mercury free HID bulbs)

if i had the extra cash i would get those last ones i have heard good things about them, but if your on a budget just get you a pair for 50 bucks and then you can have a spare one.

There is another part called an inverter that has blown on several members CLs which involves the headlights. . Might want to do a search for further info.

You will most likely pay more than that for the ones mentioned above. Your car has HID lights which are expensive. You can't just replace them will standard halogen bulbs. You should see if you dealer can find out why your bulb blew in the first place since they should last 10+ years. As lousin said it may not even be your bulb, and I would suspect that its your inverter

So no joke. I was going to replace my bulb and was thwarted by not having instructions and the ominous sign that said something like "250,000 Volts -- do not open -- ever -- muhahahahahaah"

Is changing the HID bulb easy?

Any special precautions to take? (Like undoing the battery??)

Is there a thread on this already? I searched for 'change light' and am sorting through a LOT of hits.

I did it just last week dont worry about the cap being taken off just have the car and the light off. Make sure you unplug the harness that plugs in and you should be good. Just be extra carefull when replacing the bulb not to touch it, i did on my 10,000k and the color went after a month or so. Good luck bro.

Mine went out for the 2nd time....first time was 2yrs into owning the car, now 2yrs later, it has died. First time the inverter and bulb were replaced. Will find out when I pick up my car this afternoon to see what broke and what was replaced.

Whole Assembly?

did you guys take out the whole headlight assembly or just remove the cap with the warning label on it?

ALSO, is there only that one screw on the cap with the warning or is there more?

Maybe I should go and get a chiltons (or similar) manual..
*sigh*.

If someone would post step-by-step instructions, I'd be indebted to you .

What are these bulbs you speak of? Philips? Part number?

I am interested and couldn't really find anything. Thanks.

Wrong forum, this is for the Second Gen CL. Repost your question in the 3rd Gen TL section and you will get the help you need. But hey at least you searched.
