Just want to know if anyone has dealt with them, (especially in regars to our cl troubles)...these guys can't make our trannies bulletproof can they...

been tried before, the trans crapped out faster or after teh same amount of time as teh stock trans.

Well, the Dr. evil hasn't been proven YET for the 5AT for you 2nd gen CL guys, but if it's anything as good as the rebild for us 4AT first gen CL's, or V6 accords, then that's the way to go.

keep in mind I have a Dr. evil trans being built for me right now for my first gen CL, and when level 10 tried to make a better 4AT, they failed... terribly. I think the trans failed after a month.

 

i heard they had reports of horribly reconstructed trannies (level10)... so much for bulletproofin my tranny......and i also heard good things about dr. evil.....i think i will get in touch with them and talk... if they offer me a nice warrenty i may test em out....anyone got a number or web site...or i could just it.....

 

Dr. Evil is probably your best solution.. and it also comes with an LSD upgrade (correct?)

It is hella expensive though.

 

got my dr. evil tranny back for my 5AT last week, will be installed next week. the tranny looks very nice. everythnig looks well put together, way better than the replacement trannies acura tried to play off as brand new.

we'll see how it lasts... its got a 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty or something. i figure if it breaks, it will break before then.

yeah, the warranty is 12 mo/10k miles for modified vehicles, and stock (bone stock) vehicles 24 months/20k miles.

you're probably right saying "if it breaks, it will break before then" with as much power as you will probbaly be putting down with your engine build. And you can test out the LSD with all that low end tq.

i know cars, but i dont know trannys well. the outer casing looked bone stock except for the dr. evil plate. it looked in mint shape though like it was just powdercoated grey. the area that connects to the engine, i think this is the gear drum, was bright red. i didnt get a chance to see the torque converter.

also they support the tranny cooler in conjunction w/ their built tranny and also provide the red line fluid.

 

now don't get me wrong. i'm all in favor of trying the doctor evil, but the statistical time to failure for our trannies is around 45k miles, so i think we'll be out of luck on the warranty.

i have alot of faith though that this is going to end up being a fix for us 5AT'ers going forward, but time will tell. Serge uses his car as his daily driver now and should be racking up enough miles to tell us a bigger story.

my car is driven heavily. have no fear, i think if anyone will break the 5AT dr. evil tranny, it will be me. i hit redline multiple times a day, i hold 2nd at 60 all the time. this thing takes a beating!

 

I thought Logan (MntBker) with the Turbo 5AT was our official "Dr. Evil Tester"? I believe he was the first to do a 5AT tranny from them?

 

Sounds like we have the same driving styles. lol.

I thought that he went with a rebuild from someone else like Pheonix remanufactured trans.

 

Logan didnt use dr.evil to my knowledge. He had a Stage 3 VR transmission that gave out on him. The same transmission the Jorge with the supercharged tl-s with hope system intercooler, etc had.

 

How i do pray for a fix for this kick ass automobile. CleanCL giver a WOT for me and beat dat bitch. fuck my transmission slips like a drunk, sometimes it dosent want 4th gear on the highway. acura better not be a single human entity cause I will whoop its ass.

 

May wanna take that in and get it replaced...
